This group activity also assisted with important skills like... listening and concentration to get them ready for entering the future years of their education! 20.01.2022 Today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic...and we wear pyjamas! Pyjama Day and a Teddy Bears Picnic were held at Gidgillys today to help raise money for Asthma Australia! Thank you to all that contributed The children had a ball today in their PJ's and looked super cute!!

15.01.2022 Recently we’ve been learning about geology and the different types of rocks and how they are formed and change over time. This interest emerged from our study o...f dinosaurs and volcanos. The children have taken a keen interest in this area, Kyla especially, who brought in the rocks for us to use in the tumbler and whose Daddy is a stone mason. Today, we were lucky enough to have Kylie come in and help us set up her rock tumbler. This process is called Lapidary. The rock tumbler will continue to roll every hour of the day and night for the next few weeks but we will stop and check the rocks each week to see how the rocks are progressing. 08.01.2022 Today was the last day of our rock tumbler experience. The Preschoolers were extremely excited to see how the rocks had changed over the last month and enjoyed ...participating in the experiment week to week. This was an extension to their previous learning experience based on the children’s interest in rocks where the children learnt about different types of rocks. The children were amazed to see that the rocks had become smooth, shiny, smaller and more colourful! Thank you to Kylie for loaning us the rock tumbler and Kyla for bringing in the beautiful rocks. 06.01.2022 We’ve been learning about pollination in the preschool room. The bee (or other Pollinators) collects the pollen from the Stamen and takes it to the Pistil which... then produces a seed. Today we planted seeds to help attract pollinators and to grow our very own fruits and vegetables. Thank you to all of our families that donated seeds! We had so much fun and are excited to watch the seeds grow. See more

They examined a rosemary flower up close, and at the sam...e time practiced dexterity and fine motor skills. Through the microscope we could see the beautiful purple petals and the green leaves. 03.01.2022 Today we opened up the rock tumbler to inspect and compare the rocks inside. It was interesting to find that the rocks looked a lot smoother than when we first put them in. We are now up to step 2 of the rock tumbler cycle.
