25.01.2022 GLE were proud to have 1 of our drivers representing the company in the Bunnings Blockade this morning. For those of you who are unaware, Bunnings announced a decision on July 1st that they would stop selling Victorian Sustainable Native Timber in its stores. A decision which comes as another blow for the logging industry within our community. Thank you to Traralgon Hardware for providing coffee to the protesters this morning, much appreciated!

22.01.2022 GLE staff spent many months in the Erica region; creating containment lines to prevent further fire spread, building temporary tracks to enable access for machinery and personnel, removing hazardous trees, grading of roads to remove debris and prepare for public access, rehab on all access tracks and flotation of machinery in and out of the fire zones. Many thanks to all the community who reached out to provide their services in machine operation and offsiding during this time. Thank you to Billy Pigot and Scott Skinner for the photographs - more to come.

19.01.2022 Tonight DCO Steph Rotarangi joined the Premier & Minister in declaring a State of Disaster for parts of fire affected Victoria for the next 7 days. This step ha...s been taken to ensure we send the strongest possible message to our communities that their safety is our priority. If you can leave the East Gippsland and Hume Regions you absolutely must. This is the first time a State of Disaster has been declared in Victoria. This gives authorities greater power to ensure communities follow direction from emergency services personnel. We thank Victorians for their support. 06.01.2022 Dont Destroy Timber Jobs Dan. The message today was loud and clear as timber workers from all over Victoria united on the steps of Parliament House in Melbou...rne. Daniel Andrews decision to end the native timber industry is abhorrent. Instead of blindly swinging an axe at timber jobs, we should be supporting Victorias sustainable world class timber industry. There is no justification for Daniel Andrews decision. It is simply poor policy, dished up with Labor propaganda and rhetoric which doesnt match the facts. The native timber industry is a highly regulated and sustainable industry and should be celebrated. #dontdoitdan #timberjobsmatter #worldclasstimber
