24.01.2022 NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING GOLDFIELDS SPORTS DEVELOPMENT NETWORK Thursday 24th September 2020 6.00pm 6.30pm Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, ... Suite 1, 349-353 Hannan Street, Kalgoorlie. The GSDN (originally GOLDFIELDS SPORTS DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION - GSDF) formed in the early 1990’s as a group of passionate community members aiming to coordinate and conduct activities and programs to enhance the professional development opportunities of regional sporting participants and help nurture the growth of sport in the region. The group was proactive in the coordination of training opportunities, events and providing support to talented athletes for several years until ultimately ceasing operations in late 2008. In 2013 the Department of Sport and Recreation’s ‘Regional Talent Development Program’ was launched in Kalgoorlie-Boulder with the aim to provide similar outcomes to that of the original GSDF. This program was coordinated jointly by DSR, the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder and a steering group comprising key stakeholders from various local sporting associations. Given the correlation between the two programs a decision was made to look to reinstate the GSDF Committee to continue to oversee the delivery of coach, athlete and officiating development opportunities in a well-planned and structured manner within the Goldfields sporting community. The group was reformed as the GSDN and is again run by passionate members of the local sporting community for the betterment of local sport and recreation, with auxiliary support provided by DSR and CKB. For further information or to register your interest in participating in the Goldfields Sports Development Network please feel free to contact us.
