22.01.2022 In life, sometimes we struggle to account the existence of God when reflecting on our suffering. 'How can a good God let these things happen?" and so on. However, is that what Jesus promises to those who love him? When we take up our cross and follow Christ to Calvary, we will find difficulties, struggles and persecution. Christ promises to those who love him peace; he tells us 'Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.' The temptation that we can fall into is that if God does exist, we should not suffer according to the 'world'. Instead, the real life-giving good news is that Christ died for our sins so that he can understand our pain and suffering and give us his peace when all seems too hard. Fr Z

09.01.2022 I believe in... the resurrection of the body. At every baptism, we have the Apostles Creed and say it together as what we believe. We believe that one day we will be raised to life with Christ in the new heaven and new earth (Rev. 21) and our bodies will be transformed from all the things that hold us back. Do we know what this exactly looks like? No. However, the joy is coming in that moment where every tear will be wiped away, and pain and suffering will be no more. Part of being the Church is that we try to live into this new body, this new way of life that Christ offers and promises us.
