A small genetic fault in just one of these exons is all it takes to cause Duchenne or Becker muscular dystrophy. ... It occurs in approximately 1 in 5000 male births, with just 1 in 50 million females being affected to the same severity. There is no cure and life expectancy is early to mid 20s. 16.01.2022 Last week, our centre was visited by Armadale Reptile Centre. We learned many things about the reptiles environments, what they eat, and how they move. Afterwords, we created paintings of the reptiles and experiences we had. Thank you to the Reptile Centre's volunteer John, for sharing your knowledge and passion with us. 13.01.2022 Safe, healthy, learning Children thrive when they have a regular routine especially at times of uncertainty and stress and we are working hard to keep all our children and our team members safe in insipirng and enriching learning environments. We have well practised and industry high standards of hygiene and infection control, with daily cleaning of centres using hospital grade cleaning products.... We have bans on all non-essential visitors to our centres and are also strictly enforcing rigorous exclusion policies for children, educators and families in line with advice from the public health authorities. 12.01.2022 Throughout the month of March our ECT, Hannah took part in the fundraiser Laps For Life. Hannah swam 30km through the month to raise awareness and raise funds for Reach Out. ReachOut.com Australia provides vital support to young people in Australia struggling with mental health difficulties. Hannah has reached her goal but continues to fundraise until April 14th. 11.01.2022 Holi ‘The Festival Of Colours’ Last week at Goodstart Atwell we were very fortunate to have two of our beautiful families come to our centre and show us how to make a traditional design of colours which is known as -Rangooli , to celebrate Holi festival of colours which is an Indian cultural festival celebrated in all over India on 28th of March. (Holi is a popular ancient Hindu festival, also known as the "festival of love"and the "festival of colours".The festival celeb...rates the eternal and divine love of Radha and Krishna. It also signifies the triumph of good over evil.) Our kindergarten children got a chance to help creating this beautiful design . Everyone was soo..amazed by the design! Thankyou to all the families and Community volunteers who came down to celebrate our community with us and all their amazing work with our outdoor area! We could not be more happy the way it has turned out and the children have loved exploring it!
