07.01.2022 Coronavirus (COVID-19) updates Territory update as at 15 March 2020 There remains just one confirmed case of COVID-19 in the Territory this person is a touris...t visiting Darwin who is currently in Royal Darwin Hospital. There are no other confirmed cases anywhere else in the Territory at this time. There is now a dedicated COVID-19 hotline number for the NT, this is 1800 008 002. If you are in Darwin call the Public Health Unit on 8922 8044 to arrange testing. The aim is to get ahead of the curve and there will be some impacts to our Territory lifestyle regarding our significant events, however we all need to follow the best advice to limit to risk of COVID-19 to Territorians. In a statement issued today by the Chief Minister, he advised that the National Cabinet met today to continue its work responding to the escalating impacts of the coronavirus. The Chief Minister also advised that the National Cabinet resolved to enact a series of measures effective from midnight tonight, enforceable by Federal, State and Territory law: - There will be a universal precautionary self-isolation requirement of 14 days for all international arrivals. This requirement will stay in place until further notice. - The Federal Government will ban cruise ships for an initial period of 30 days. - Static non-essential gatherings of more than 500 people will be prevented. This requirement will stay in place until further notice. - A risk assessment tool that businesses and organisations can use to judge the clinical risk associated with their event and whether their event can proceed under the new requirement will be finalised in the next 24 hours and made available on this website. - A hotline for businesses and organisations, will also be available to the community soon. - Government schools across the NT will remain open.
