11.01.2022 Dear Families, Please find the link to our latest newsletter below. As a school we are really looking forward to welcoming our students back to school on Monday. A quick reminder, to help us with adult physical distancing, we are asking all parents/carers to:... Drop and collect your child near either the top/bottom gates or oval. Where your child needs support with transition to class, please walk your child quickly to or from their classroom door. Adults are not to enter classrooms/buildings. Leave the school site promptly at the beginning and end of the school day. Communicate with your child’s teacher through Class Dojo, email or request a phone call at the end of the school day. Keep your child at home if they are unwell. This will aid their recovery and protect their classmates and school staff. Please note: Children are requested NOT to bring toys, play items and sports equipment to school due to increased hygiene measures. We want to make school as safe as possible for everyone and we both need and appreciate your ongoing support in following these key directions. Looking forward to seeing all our students on Monday. Have a great weekend. https://goulburnstps.schoolzineplus.com/schoolnews?nid=44 Regards Michael

10.01.2022 Dear Families Please find attached the link to our newsletter sent out today. It has very important information in regards to the 'new' normal on school sites. It will be challenging as a community to adjust to the changes, especially in regards to the focus on adults not being on site. We understand it may not feel welcoming and that the essence of community before and after school will be somewhat diminished. However, our staff team will be ready and waiting to welcome you...r children with open arms on Monday and can't wait to get back to learning at school Always keep in mind that we are doing this to keep everyone safe and that adults in groups pose our biggest threat to the spread of Covid-19 in our environment. We are still here, but in the new world of communication through Class Dojo, email, phone and Zoom! Regards Michael https://goulburnstps.schoolzineplus.com/schoolnews?nid=43

07.01.2022 Free Dress day Friday March 19th. On Friday the 19th of March, we will be having a free dress day for Harmony Week and the National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence. Students are asked to dress in orange (the colour of respect) or cultural dress. If in free dress, students are asked to donate a gold coin. 05.01.2022 Meeting with the Hobart City Council regarding road safety. Meeting will be Thursday August 6, 2020 between 8:45 and 9:45 am at the school with the Traffic engineer and the Lord Mayor confirmed to attend. Please continue to send reports of incidents or want to raise other issues around road safety and the student drop-off and pick-up to email [email protected]. Stefan will compile them as a report to the city council together with a summary of the meeting discussions. ... Stefan would like to share the results of the Vehicle Speed and Volume survey conducted in late February. On average 1884 vehicles drive along Forrest each week day with an 85-percentile speed of 49 km/h. A bit concerning is the 85% speed during the morning drop-off (42.1 km/h) and afternoon pick-up time (46.3 km/h). The speed result on Goulburn street in November for comparison were slower 38.7 and 39.8 km/h respectively indicating that on Goulburn Street most people actually adhere to the 40-speed limit during those hours, while people are more likely to speed on Forrest Road. The 85% speed is somewhat the average speed 85% of the vehicles drove. With some driving, slower some are driving faster and some even much faster. Thus, a reminder to everyone to slow down around the school especially during school drop-of and pick-up time on Forrest Road and also elsewhere in other school zones.

01.01.2022 Dear Families, Please be advised that there have been some changes to the Term 1 school holiday dates. The end date for Term 1, 2021, has been brought forward to allow the school holiday period to commence immediately following Easter Tuesday. ... This means that students will not have to return to school for three days between Easter break and Term 1 school holidays, which was previously the case. The overarching reason behind this decision is to allow for greater learning continuity for students. With the school holidays falling directly after Easter, it will be an ideal time for your family to take advantage of the extended holiday period! All Term dates for 2021 can be found on the Department of Education website at www.education.tas.gov.au/about-/term-dates/term-dates-2021/ Regards, Michael Park Principal
