25.01.2022 Grandads Garden opening at Gaven State School on the Gold Coast! Driven by super SU Chappy Samantha Bond, she gathered a great team who worked really hard over a long time to achieve a great outcome for the students and staff. Another excellent resource to build social and emotional resilience. Principal Phillip Carleton very supportive and everyone grateful to Amanda from Bunnings and school tradies and community volunteers. Local state MP Mark Boothman joined the celebration. Very humbling to cut the ribbon. I also spoke to the over 600 students and staff.
23.01.2022 Domestic violence victims will find help through a brand new 'I Grow in Grandad's Garden' (the book) inspired 'Garden Chapel' which was opened on International Women's Day last Friday. Created at a Salvation Army accomodation service shelter a long way from Brisbane, Angela had the vision and a donor's contribution helped make it happen. Wounded mums and children and sometimes dads will use the garden to help manage their pain. This is very humbling to us.

22.01.2022 A remarkable day at Kenmore South State School to read to 400 students and open a Grandad's Garden! Chappy Jilanna and Principal Raylee and D P Robyn Cooney pulled together a great team, including a generous Indooroopilly Bunnings contribution towards the cost - special thanks to Rachel from Bunnings. Local Pullenvale Councillor Kate Richards was a special guest - "I'm about ready to burst into tears" she remarked as we cut the ribbon. "This book was ahead of its time. It's perfect to build resilience (EQ) in our students", said D P Robyn. Chappy Jilanna has been the team champion and we were honoured to share in the day. Teachers are already taking entire classes to the garden...
22.01.2022 A bunch of boys worked with school staff to create a beautiful Grandad's Garden at Livingstone Christian College, Ormeau, Qld. Tracey Hodge was Team Leader and talked about the increase in confidence in the boys as they worked together on the project. Now the school has an inspiring space to build confidence in the lives of many.

15.01.2022 Junction Park State School Annerley - Grandparent Garden opening and Grandparent Day celebration! I was invited to open the Grandparent Garden - in the most beautiful natural setting. All the staff have copies of Grandad's Garden. Chappy Deb of SU a key player in ensuring the success of the day and the ongoing impact of the garden.
15.01.2022 Townsville Central State School Grandparent Day and Grandad's Garden opening! Local city councillor joined the celebration and announced she has been and will continue to come and sit in Grandad's Garden. Chappie Laura Loader and her team have created something very special which will help build emotional resilience in many students.

09.01.2022 Bloomfield River State School - first ever Grandparent Day and dedication of Let Go Log as the first step of their Grandad's Garden. It's in such a beautiful rainforest environment; North Queensland - an hour or so from Cooktown. Chappy Dave K the GDG champion - we spoke at 6 schools and dedicated Grandad's Garden's in each one. Very special time. Awkward pose in pic 3 due to wanting the signage visible.

The landscape design and briliant landscaping, superb craftsmanship and passion for the wellbeing of the students has combined to create an exceptional environment. Take a look at that Dream Table! Rechelle Edwards, Junior Primary Co-ordinator the driver of Westside's Garden, a special, quiet place. Once again, Bunnings made a significant contribution.
07.01.2022 Laura State School in Far North Queensland. A very special half day opening the beginnings of their Grandad's Garden with the beautifully crafted Let Go Log. We read our kids books and had great dialogue with the enthusiastic students. A Cooktown based school bus driver said, "Laura's students are by far the best behaved kids I ever drive" Well done teachers and students for creating such an enjoyable and creative learning environment. We loved our time with you.
07.01.2022 Growing in Kinder's Garden! Another brilliant idea inspired by 'I Grow in Grandad's Garden'. Highvale Preschool in Glen Waverly, Victoria have created a fantast...ic hard cover photo book for the 35 students who graduated to school at the end of 2019. They made it their own and Kinder's Garden is having a significant impact on the students, staff and parents too. They have included a photo of the students at the end of the book. Congratulations to Educator Pam and her team at Highvale Kinder. Any preschool could do this. See more

06.01.2022 Victoria Park State School Mackay Qld. Chappie Jo the champion of the creation of Grandad's Garden and their first Grandparent Day. The school is very positive and grateful to have the garden to help grow happy, generous and emotionally resilient students. One of the local elders reading GDGarden on their second Grandparent Day.

04.01.2022 Upper Ross Community Garden at Rasmussen state school incorporates the 4 features of Grandads Garden and includes a fruit and veggie garden with two resident red winged parrots who love the sunflower seeds. Many students helped by conversations with teachers and Chappie Dan at the 4 stop spots. Great work Dan! The Grandparent Day celebration was spectacular!
