25.01.2022 It's the rules!

25.01.2022 COVID CLOSURE We will be closed to the public until Thursday 18th February. Never fear, if you have your name down on one of our dogs we will hold him or her for you until the lockdown lifts.... We will still be publishing greyhounds for adoption on our website on Monday at 11am, and we will still be bringing new dogs into our care. We can’t wait to see you all soon!

21.01.2022 UPDATE: this session is now sold out Dr Rebecca ‘Bec’ Goode is a name greyhound foster carers and adopters would be very familiar with. She has been the in-house veterinary surgeon at GAP for 8 years and sees thousands of greyhounds per year. Bec was even awarded the GRV Welfare Award for her work in the greyhound welfare space in 2020. Bec loves sharing her knowledge of greyhounds. As she puts it: Greyhounds are very different from other dogs, and I think what I love is le...arning about the ways they are so different, and helping others recognise that as well. Next Wednesday (14th April) we are holding an Information Session via Zoom with Bec. This is your opportunity to learn from her and tap into her vast knowledge of greys. 20.01.2022 Today is our final day of greyhound deliveries! Many thanks to Taylor, Lauran, Emily, Caitlin, Daniela, Leah, Jenny and Sean for driving thousands and thousands of kilometres to deliver and collect over 600 greyhounds for adoption and foster homes . Big thank you too to everyone who adopted from us during lockdown - may your greyhounds bring you many many years of joy. 19.01.2022 #LoveNotes To GAP, Mary has been the best thing for me this year.... She motivates me to get out of bed and go for a walk and have a play in the backyard every day and I would honestly be so lost without her. Although she was quite timid when she came to us almost 3 months ago, she is well and truly feeling at home with us now. Mary is so patient with me and will let me use her at a pillow when I need a cuddle. She has also recently become my bed buddy while I’m on my uni zoom calls. 16.01.2022 PUPDATE - Ginger has a home waiting to adopt him <3 This is GINGER, and he's looking for a person all of his own! Ginger came to GAP as a helper dog but he's not really suitable for the role as, like many terriers, he has a massive case of "small person syndrome". He thinks he's invincible and is ready to take on the world! Ginger says "Hear me ROAR"! If you are looking for an energetic pocket rocket with a huge personality, Ginger is your chap. He's not especially fond of ot...her dogs, big or small, so he's looking for an only dog home. No kids for this character either, as he does not like to share his toys. If you think Ginger might be the perfect little man for you, please call GAP on 57990166. He has not been tested with cats (so for now, we are assuming he is not cat tolerant).

16.01.2022 #LoveNotes To GAP, In the midst of Covid and some extremely dark days mentally. A ray of sunshine (NYX) now Tess was delivered to my door.... Fast forward a couple of months and what a treasure Tess has become. Such a happy pup to wake up to in the morning and her excitement mounts as I get dressed in the morning as that's a 95% chance she's going for zoomies. Highlight of my day, of course the same again in the afternoon. Tess brings so much joy to everyone she meets. After discovering the fun of playing with a ball, she politely takes the neighbors' dog ball of him at the park. Such a gentle, polite, kind nature where once her meals are put down she will have a sniff then come in for a cuddle and then go and eat. So precious. She politely waits while our cheeky cat will try and navigate her big bone. She loves been dressed and happily obliges. This dear Hound has bought so much cheer, joy, laughter, warmth, fun to my life and she is the best cuddler. Thank you GAP for giving me something to get our of bed for everyday. Life changing. 03.01.2022 #LoveNotes Dear GAP, We said goodbye to our beautiful Maggie five days ago and we just want to say thank-you to GAP for nearly 9 years of joy.... From the moment Maggie came home with us, she won our hearts. She was the most patient, gentle, kind and loving girl. We love how she sat with us in hard times. We love how she greeted us every day after work with a waggy tail and a Zoomie. We love how she would lean into our leg so hard that she would nearly knock us over. We love how she won over so many people at The Melbourne Show and other GAP events. We love how patient she was with our son- and how they were best mates. She was our princess. We will miss her.
