24.01.2022 R U Ok? Day is on Thursday the 10th of September 2020

24.01.2022 Today at Growing Hearts the children wanted to do the aboriginal sign puzzle. They both took turns to pick out a wooden chip and then we spoke about what symbol they had picked and the children found where it went. Then the children went to the door of the play room and spoke to each other about the symbols on the door. While the children were doing the aboriginal puzzle, Brooklyn was doing the number puzzle. Every time she picked a number cookie, I would tell her which number she had picked.

21.01.2022 This morning at Growing Hearts the children wanted to draw some pictures of their family, while also learning their colours. Drawing allows children to express their feelings, emotions and creativity. Drawing allows children to experiment with different utensils such as pencils, crayons, chalk, brushes ect. It allows children to develop vital fine motor skills, fine muscle strength, coordination, language skills and imagination.... Drawing encourages children to try new experiences, feel a sense of pride and achievement with what they can produce and gain confidence in their learning and abilities. 21.01.2022 Brooklyn has taken an interest in books This afternoon she picked the toilet training book. Books teaches a child about communication, and stimulates your child’s imagination and helps them to learn and gives them information about the world around them. and introduces concepts such as numbers, letters, colors, and shapes in a fun way. builds listening, memory, and vocabulary skills.

16.01.2022 Today we celebrated talk like a pirate day at Grow and Learn FDC with Miss Shauna and the other children. The children had so much fun searching for gold coins and treasures in the sensory tubes, making their own pirate flag colouring in pirate boats and pirates, reading pirate books cutting alone the dotted line with pirate images.

05.01.2022 Today at Growing Hearts the children learned the life cycle of Butterflies, Hens and Turtles. As we went though each one with our wooden life cycle tray, we watch videos about how they hatch. The children favourite was butterflies, so we all sat down and watched more video about them and watched video of them hatching into beautiful butterflies

04.01.2022 Today at Growing Hearts we celebrated Elijah 4th birthday. First the children played pin the tail on the dinosaur Elijah won!! So he was very happy. Then we played with the balloons and party poppers, they made the house all colourful. Then we played don’t crack the egg race. The children really enjoyed this game. We all sang happy birthday to Elijah outside under the gazebo. Then it was cake time!! Elijah has had an amazing day playing games and playing with his friends.
