22.01.2022 UPDATE - Misty has now been adopted :) Lovely Misty is looking for her forever home. She is a four year old German Shepherd x Wolfhound and was surrendered with her sister Gigi. Misty is the smaller and more shy of the two sisters. Misty is also gentle on lead when walked away from her sister. Her tolerance of other dogs depends on meeting them but she is not good with cats. Misty has gained a lot of confidence away from her sister. She is at Moorook Animal Shelter. If you can offer Misty a loving home, please phone Lola at Moorook on 0417 868 394.

22.01.2022 UPDATE - Mishka went on trial today. Best wishes for a happy forever home beautiful girl :) Mishka is a beautiful, 14-month-old girl who needs a family with the time and ability to commit to her training. She is currently in foster care and is settling down well and has now been desexed. She needs someone who will be able to be with her most of the time, and to be patient with her separation anxiety until she becomes confident that she has a forever home. She would be suited ...to a home with no other dog, no cat and no young children. Mishka will be foster to adopt to ensure that Mishka and her new family are both confident that she is in the right home. We will provide you with all the advice and support that we can during her trial. If you have the love and patience to offer Mishka her forever home, please send us an adoption application at http://gsdrescuesa.com.au/adoptionapplication.html

18.01.2022 UPDATE - Thank you for all the applications for Peppa. As is usually the case, we have a lot of applications but only one dog. Peppa is now on trial and has settled in very well. We are looking for a new home for Peppa, who is a lovely young GSD girl, two years and eight months old. She is a working line, very intelligent, pedigreed girl whose owner is only rehoming her due to illness. She is happy and loving, is friendly to all people and she loves children. Peppa is active,... so needs plenty of exercise and company, and further training. A home with patience and experience with very active dogs would suit her. She is not suited to a home with cats or other small pets and probably needs to be an only dog. She is desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. If you have already sent us an adoption application, no need to reapply. Just let us know you are interested by emailing us at [email protected]. Please submit new applications at http://gsdrescuesa.com.au/adoptionapplication.html

16.01.2022 You may remember the handsome Riley who came to us back in August. Well this week we received the unfortunate news that he has been diagnosed with both pannus (chronic superficial keratitus) and atypical pannus. It is treatable but will require daily eye drops for the rest of his life.... For those unfamiliar with this condition I have included a brief information sheet that explains things a little more. German Shepherd Dog Rescue has supported Riley to date, it is your generous donations that make this support possible. So thank you from Riley as prior to coming to us his condition was undiagnosed and untreated which aside from being very painful has also resulted in some vision loss. Riley is now on track in terms of controlling this condition and leading a healthy and happy life. We have posted this not only to give you an update on Riley but also to raise awareness of this condition. Again heartfelt thanks to all of our generous donors. German Shepherd Dog Rescue SA.

15.01.2022 Happy Friday German Shepherd loving friends! We have been a bit remiss in our happy home updates, but tonight we would love for you to join us in wishing the following dogs a very happy ever. To Ajax, Bear, Diesel, Remi, and Toshi and their families we wish all the very best

14.01.2022 Hi folks, we hope you are all staying safe and well. Tonight we want to share with you some happy home updates for the dogs who managed to make it into their forever homes before our lockdown here in South Australia. Please join us in wishing all the best to Shadow, Roxy and Pagan and their new families

13.01.2022 Hi folks, please join us in wishing the beautiful Nala happy ever after in her new home. Although she was a bit tubby in this photo, she has already lost some weight and was going GSD crazy in her very own shell pool in today's heat . We hope you have all been managing to keep your human and doggy family cool today and that you continue to stay that way tomorrow. Remember any family member wearing a fur coat will need plenty of shade and water, if outside, and would appreciate being kept cool indoors as much as you. We hope you all have a great weekend.

11.01.2022 UPDATE - Ryder and Hunter are now going on foster to adopt as a pair together :) Ryder and Hunter are seven year old GSD litter brothers who are a bonded pair.. We are helping another rescue to find a new home for them. Maybe they can be rehomed separately, but preferably together.... They are both friendly with dogs, people and children. They love playing or lounging around, and are very obedient. They have been off lead camping with great success. Ryder has an amputated toe on each front foot which has never affected him in any way. Hunter has a tiny tip of one ear missing but this healed years ago. They are both desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and have no known health problems. If you can offer a loving home to these beautiful boys, please phone Julie from Scruffer Lovers on 0431 670 929 or send us an email at [email protected] See more

10.01.2022 On Friday GSDRSA picked up some awesome donations we were lucky enough to receive from @arcsupport.org.au Animal Rescue Cooperative. Without help and support from companies and businesses like #Petbarnfoundation #ThankYouARC #WIRES and #MiniKittyCommune, it wouldn't possible to keep helping our furry friends Many thanks and it is very much appreciated

08.01.2022 UPDATE - Aisha is now adopted. She settled almost immediately with her new loving family and her very handsome new doggy boyfriend :) Meet Aisha, who is looking for a quiet loving home with people who are willing to help her become a confident happy girl. She has just turned five years old and she has had a sad life so far. It's time that this lovely GSD girl finds a home where she will be cared for and can discover what it is like to be allowed inside a house with her family.... She is affectionate with people she knows and takes time to get to know strangers. Aisha would enjoy being taken for quiet walks where she can gradually get used to seeing new people and other dogs. She may be able to live with a quiet sociable dog with a suitable introduction. She is not suitable to live with young children and is unknown with cats. Aisha is currently with the RSPCA and we have been asked to help to find her a loving home. She is desexed, microchipped, up to date with vaccinations, and has no known health problems. If you have already sent us an adoption application, no need to reapply. Just let us know you are interested by emailing us at [email protected] or submit an adoption application at http://gsdrescuesa.com.au/adoptionapplication.html See more

07.01.2022 UPDATE - Thank you to those who applied. Cody is now going on trial tomorrow. Cody is a friendly, loving, pedigreed boy who is only twelve months old. He is being rehomed only due to his owner's illness. He has been living with his three year old GSD friend all his life, so may suit a home with no other dog or maybe an older calm female dog.... As he is still a pup, Cody is too boisterous to live with young children. Cody needs training and a loving home where he is allowed in the house and to sleep inside. He is vaccinated, microchipped and will be desexed when he is old enough as part of the adoption agreement. If you have previously applied, please email us at [email protected] or send in your adoption application at http://gsdrescuesa.com.au/adoptionapplication.html See more

03.01.2022 SASHA - UPDATE - FOSTER CARER HAS BEEN FOUND. We are looking for a temporary and urgent foster carer for lovely eight year old Sasha. Due to a change in circumstances, her owner is looking for a new home where he can keep her with him. The foster arrangement is expected to be two to three months, but may be for a shorter time. Sasha is gentle and friendly, just needs a careful introduction to other dogs and then she gets on with them well. Her vaccinations are up to date, she... is microchipped and has no known health problems. She is not desexed. If you can help us, please reply to this post or email us at [email protected].

02.01.2022 UPDATE - Arlie went on trial today :) We are looking for a loving forever home for beautiful Arlie. She is a cuddly and affectionate GSD girl who has just turned three years old. She has lived with older children in the past and loved going to the beach. She is well behaved on the lead in public and loves going for walks.... She would benefit from plenty of exercise and to be allowed inside and to sleep inside with her family. Arlie needs a calm confident owner who is willing to give her more training and to set boundaries. A home with no small animals is needed. She is desexed, vaccinated and microchipped and has no known health problems. If Arlie can come and live with you at your place, please send us an adoption application at http://gsdrescuesa.com.au/adoptionapplication.html or for any more information, please email us at [email protected] See more
