25.01.2022 The Brisbane Wolves HC came out strong and took an early lead - but the UTS-UC Hawks HC fought their way back and were first up at 4:3. After both teams went goal for goal, some key saves by Hawks goalkeeper Henrik Goerges brought UTS-UC a clear lead for the first time after 17 minutes at 11:6. It was a difficult period for the Wolves, as their legs were tired from their earlier game - and they faded in the last minutes to go into the break 10:19 down. In the second half, the... young Brisbane boys came back strong, showing the fighting spirit they are known for. While they came closer, they ultimately could not stage the comeback they hoped for due to a few too many errors in attack, fading strength and a raft of suspensions. UTS-UC had the momentum on their side for most of the game, were able to count on Goerges in goals and their strong scorer Viktor Bruhn. See more

24.01.2022 18th Asian Handball Championship - Australia vs India, full time 27-24

24.01.2022 This game delivered all it had promised, albeit with a disappointing end for Saint Kilda Handball Club (Melbourne). The intensity was high throughout, spectacular goals as well as excellent goalkeeping - and the emotions ran high at times too. The Melbourne side had an excellent start, leading 5:1 - but once the UTS-UC Hawks HC had clawed their first lead at 8:7 after 17 minutes, they never looked back. St Kilda staged various comebacks, coming as close as 18:19 in the 40th ...minute, but they never managed to equalise - and ultimately had to succumb 25:30. UTS-UC simply had the better bench, being able to throw fresh legs at St Kilda every time they came close, now claiming second place in the HLA. As this last game of round 3 comes to a close, wed like to thank all the volunteers and supporters, and particularly the two referees Chris Cheruiyot and Simon Sevilla.

16.01.2022 It was another hard fought game between the eternal rivals, and the game ended like the last two encounters - with a win for Sydney Uni Handball Club. Both sides were strong in defense, and goalkeeping was excellent. St Kilda simply had less alternatives off the bench - and was not able to build enough pressure through their back line. Sydney played to their strengths - with structured attack and a good eye for the pivot. And they were able to keep the tempo up with fresh legs off the bench in their second game of the day. St Kilda will now prepare for tomorrows game vs. the Hawks HC - and plan for their next assault on Sydney Uni in the next round of the HLA.

02.01.2022 The game between Hawks HC and Wolves HC has kicked off and the Brisbane team takes an early 2:1 lead.

01.01.2022 Second half UTS-UC HC vs Brisbane Wolves HC

01.01.2022 The Wolves HC started with confidence and panache, but saw many of their early distance shots saved by Sydneys goalkeeper. This allowed Sydney to run fastbreaks and pull away to 5:1 very quickly. From there on, the experienced Sydney side took control of the game, continually growing their lead. New Wolves addition, and former Sydney Uni player, Caleb Gahan certainly made an impact in the young Brisbane side - but it was not enough to challenge Sydney over the whole game. While the game was level over various phases, Brisbanes still had too many mistakes, allowing Sydney to run their tempo game - helped by a fantastic performance of youngster Bjorn McCourt in goals. Brisbane will now look to recover quickly for their next game vs. UTS-UC Hawks at 6pm, while Sydney prepare for the clash against 2nd placed team Saint Kilda HBC at 4pm.
