18.01.2022 Hi everyone, Hiddenbed is doing a fundraiser for a young girl called Ashlynn who has a medical condition called Primary Ciliary Dyskensia. This means she cannot clear secretions on her own as the cilia in her lungs doesn’t function to support clearing and so she requires constant chest physio, antibiotics and frequent hospital admissions. Ashlynn has had a lung drained 2 times because it collapsed and has continued to have intensive treatment to support an already failing lun...g. Available for children like Ashlynn is an airway clearance vest. This vest causes oscillations in the chest and is able to work at breaking up secretions, move them around and prompting her to cough. Ashlynn isn’t able to clear her lungs, and she needs more assistance given only one lung functions well. The total cost of the vest is $15,000 US.
