25.01.2022 Georgina and Paul Micheal got to share Roman history with students at Melbourne University last Friday. An event on the south lawn organised by Melb Uni in conjunction with the Ancient Roman Re-enactors Victoria ARRV, a living history group that portrays Roman life. Georgina got to display her wigs and cosmetics again and Paul Michael put on his Roman armour to join the army.

23.01.2022 For the Canberra Roman exhibition we sourced some great items from an Australian company that provides excellent reproductions of historical items like oil lamps, papyrus documents, ceramic shards for mock digs etc. Worth a look as they specialise in providing items to aid with education. http://www.historicconnections.com/

18.01.2022 Georgina doing more Roman stuff for Timeline at Kryal Castle last weekend. The weather was challenging and she had to work out of a soldiers tent but that didn't stop interested public engaging with Georgina's display. Georgina also had her first two human guinea pigs to try out some of Janet Stephens methods of Roman hairdressing of stitching the hair. Links to Janet Stephens hair tutorials below if you are interested in recreating these styles for yourself. The Tower 2nd C AD https://youtu.be/iZFY9Acxq7M Then she used a combination of two styles to create a style for young lass with fair hair who had shoulder length hair. 17.01.2022 Georgina was lucky to join the Ancient Roman Re-enactors of Victoria and members from interstate Roman living history groups, for a special display put on for the National Museum of Australia as part of their "Rome, City and Empire" exhibition. Despite the extreme temperatures and flash storm on the Saturday night, the living history display was a success. For the Canberra event, Georgina created a simulated Pompeii room with hand painted fresco design walls. Recreated roman hair styles based on research by hairdresser Janet Stephens and had a Roman cosmetic display. While the roman soldiers slept in reproduction roman tents, Georgina got a taste of glamping, Pompeii style.
