19.01.2022 Getting a visit from these horses was a real treat while pulling honey from the beehives at Redland Bay. The bees are doing well in their new home. They arrived a few weeks ago half full with macadamia honey and now have an abundance of flowering eucalypts to choose from.

15.01.2022 A cracking morning at Hive & Harvest Farm. It certainly feels like spring is here with new lambs and geese and more baby animals on the way. The bees are also ramping up. Most beehives here are starting to fill out as the queen increases her egg laying behaviour and starts laying drone bees (males), indicating that mating season is around the corner. It’s always great to see strong healthy #beehives producing delicious honey but we also love to see what’s flowering and getting a detailed report on current affairs from Kerry the #alpaca At the moment there’s a loud #buzzing sound coming from the duck pond where nectar is dripping from the #tipuanatipu Amongst the many #australiannatives the pink wattles are adding... plenty of colour to the landscape and the bees are enjoying a bath in the #pollen of the magnolia grandiflora! Up in the veggie patch tasty heirloom tomatoes are falling off the vine but it’s the #artichoke flowers the bees are enjoying the most. 08.01.2022 The Sunshine Coast has some of the states largest Macadamia farms which are buzzing with activity with the spring flowering season currently in action. We’ve deployed an army of Hive & Harvest bees along with bees from some other local beekeeping mates for pollination to one of these farms in the hinterland to help our local farmers get the best possible yield from their trees. Over the months that follow, macadamia nuts will start to form and ripen before hardening and fal...ling to the ground by next September. This video by Australian Macadamias illustrates the hard work these bees do on these beautiful indigenous Australian trees.
