17.01.2022 The Huon Channel Cricket Association (HCCA) has announced that this season’s T20 Charity fundraiser will be hosted by the Woodbridge Wombats Cricket Club on Monday, February 8 (Regatta Day), with the game starting at 2pm. The day will feature the annual Huon versus Channel T20 rivalry match, which was first played following the Riveaux Road bushfires in 2019, to raise money for affected families. Last year’s match was played at Blackmans Bay to support Melanoma Tasmania follo...wing the loss of a much-loved club member, Narelle Burgess. With the current score standing at one match apiece, there will no doubt be some heat in this year’s match at Woodbridge. In 2021, proceeds from the day will go to SPEAK UP! Stay ChaTY, a suicide prevention organisation, which aims to normalise conversations about mental health and encourage people to seek help when they need it. The teams will be split from the following clubs: HUON: Southern Tigers, Slab Road, Huonville Bulls, Judbury, North Huon Warriors and Summerleas Eagles. CHANNEL: Woodbridge, Kingston Crows, Blackmans Bay, Longley, Margate, Snug, Kettering and Bruny Island. Congratulations to the players who have been selected below to participate in the game.
