25.01.2022 Good Luck Kara I hope we see you swimming underwater next year.

25.01.2022 Calm down; breathe; how many times have we heard that? How linked is our breathing to our feeling of wellbeing to our ability to relax and make decisions? In the UK the University of Sheffield Medical School conducted a study on the relationship between scuba diving and mental health. They concluded that scuba diving has a positive impact on mood, promotes mindfulness, and improves levels of anxiety, depression, and social functioning as well as reducing insomnia. Scuba d...iving teaches divers to follow important rules around breathing and what to do if you encounter a problem or obstacle, and they are great to use above the water as well; Breathe continuously and never hold your breath; Long deep breathing & Stop Breathe Think Act. You don’t need to be underwater for them to work in-fact I use the scuba diving hand signals to subtly check in with my kids when I know they either don’t want to talk or can’t. If you are intrigued to find out more about scuba come and would like to give it a try in our heated pool on Sydney’s Northern Beaches visit our website www.icfish.com.au #RUOK #RUOKDay #mentalhealth #mentalhealthtips #healthy #healthybrains #healthybodies #positivechanges #aussiekids #auskids #teens #programs #teenhealth #parenting #raisingteens #mindfulparenting #lifeskills #family #parentingteens #training #skills #obstacles #development #resilience #courage

24.01.2022 Wait for the tail! Very few Blue Whales will show their tails on sounding dives, making each time it happens special @dolphindronedom

23.01.2022 Couple of spots left today. Call if you’re looking for something different and fun to do today with the kids.

16.01.2022 Can anyone help? What is in this Port Jacksons mouth? First thought was lobster meat but it seam mushed up enough and I thought he would eat it; never known a shark to just sit holding onto its food before? Other crazy ideas I had was... is it a clasper? Could he have bitten off another shark's clasper?... The last idea I had was is it's tongue (can find out if they have tongues?) and he was sticking it out to taste the female shark's pheromones in the water... is this possible? Lots of ideas but not 100% sure and would love to know if anyone can tell me. Picture was taken today at Cabbage Tree Bay, Sydney. #portjacksonshark #cabbagetreebay #scubadiving #sharklife #scubadiving #marinebiologist

15.01.2022 Incredible encounter last night, being treated to my first ever Gibberfish. As I have never seen one before, I didn't know what size or behavior to expect. Desc...ending down to 85' I came across it sitting motionless vertically its head pointing down towards the bottom. Rather cooperative, it let me stay with it for about 10 min (using red light) until deciding it had had enough turning away and booking it towards the depths where it will spend the rest of its life being a bathypelagic deep-sea species inhabiting depths of over 1000m (3280ft) when fully grown. Body size was ~1 inch about the size of a quarter. Blackwater diving off Palm Beach, Florida. Nikon D850, 60mm lens, Nauticam housing, Ikelite DS 161 strobes, Bigblue focus lights. 1/250 sec, f22, iso 320

15.01.2022 Port Jackson’s mating on our dive today! Incredible to watch: apologies for the picture quality but i was trying not to get to close, use a flash and not disturb them. Top left is the start when the much smaller male bites the female on her pectoral fins; then there is lots of turning and twisting. #portjacksonshark ... #kidsscubadiving #cabbagetreebay See more

11.01.2022 Who will win..... THE RACE Worlds fastest Swimmer - Micheal Phelps vs. Great White Shark......

09.01.2022 As it's seal season so I thought that I would post about an awesome seal who used to enjoy sunbathing at the steps of the Opera House. He was named Benny after "Bennelong Point". I first heard about him when I was volunteering for ORRCA and a regular job was making sure Benny could sunbath in peace. He was a regular visitor from 2014, he's a long-nosed fur seal in great condition, and based on his size recon he was a young adult. It was pretty usual that he choose the Opera ...House as they normally like a more secluded spot to chill out but great to think that there were enough fish around to attract him. He hasn't been seen for a while but if you happen to spot him call ORRCA on 02 9415 3333 and post on his own Facebook page Benny the seal

06.01.2022 Parents; have you ever looked for a place to take your kids which naturally offers them a break from their devices without you having to monitor or limit their screen time? Have you looked at a campsite and thought Yeah! No wifi? Scuba diving offers so much for kids because not only can they not take their devices underwater; more importantly they’re interacting with nature, being active, working as a team, looking after one another, learning new skills, facing new challen...ges all under the close supervision of professional experienced Instructors. Don’t hesitate to check out our kid's scuba diving programs by visiting our website www.icfish.com.au If you want to give them a taster to see if scuba diving is for them then our 30 minute try scuba experience conducted in a swimming pool will give them a chance to find out for themselves.

04.01.2022 Shelley Beach Eagle Rays YouTube video, beautiful.

02.01.2022 Amazing but just for the record....the law is that you must not enter the water within 100 metres of a whale or within 50 metres of a dolphin or dugong. Caution zone: a distance of between 100 metres and 300 metres from a whale and between 50 metres and 150 metres from a dolphin or dugong....... not a lot you can do if they come and say hello to you except watch out for the tail
