16.01.2022 Flashback wayyyyyyyyyy back when..................... one of our first own renovations, a double fronted Victorian home in #yarraville. Before Yarraville was named 'the coolest suburb to live in'. although it was still pretty cool to live there back then, 10 mins from the city and plenty of renovations happening around us, so many Period homes being brought back to life. With this renovation we were able to keep the beautiful pine wide timber floorboards but through restumping we had to replace all the laden plaster ( well that blew the budget), we made sure we kept all the traditional architraves, decorative cornices and plaster ceiling rosettes but we did go a bit "out there" by painting the ceiling black in the hallway with its dark spice red painted walls created a very dramatic entry to our home.

15.01.2022 Our client presented us with an empty space that was formerly an art gallery to create and design an office space to accommodate 18-25 staffers. The brief was to have plenty of natural light, a fresh feel and a sense of creativity. We have made sure that each department has its own Co working area and everyone has access to thequiet space to work in. The breakout room is to feel like they have just stepped out of their work environment into a place where they can share food and have some time out to relax with lots of greenery to associate with nature, a breath of fresh air.

14.01.2022 Our top 9 predictions of interior design trends for 2020 A new year and a new decade 1.Colours will be muted and more evident in natural tones of soft greens, earthy browns, soft stone greys and softer whites, for the brave the strong colours palette of peacock blues, spicy pinks and merlot. No not the wine Patone have chosen classic blue as their colour of the year. 2. Kitchens are still the top feature in our homes with more bespoke cabinetry and curves. Lot more shake...r and V groove panel fronts and the return of cabinetry handles. The industrial gantries will also become more popular in the kitchen. 3. Bathrooms trends are still featuring gorgeous tapware in many metal tones especially brass and brushed nickel, lots of soft curves and plenty of natural light creating a sense of calm. 4. Study nooks- in the last few years I have designed more and more study nooks around the kitchen and family areas this will continue into the new decade as we are more conscious of needing this space for the whole family to use. 5. Homewares and dcor will become more personalised and more important items that mean something to us than the disposable land fill trend items that we all thought we had to have. 6. Fluted Glass- refers to panels of glass with vertical grooves or ribbed glass used in privacy panels, light pendants and dcor items. 7. Exteriors- we will see more metal cladding, stone work and concrete finishes, gardens will become more in tuned as outdoor rooms linking the indoors/outdoors creating as sense of one connective space. 8. Terrazzo-love it or hate it. The composite surface made up of chips of marble, glass and stone and now replicated in tiles can be quite gorgeous. It has started in out top 9 but will it last the decade? 9.
