04.01.2022 As a child I grew up on a small farm in the hills. We had chickens cows horses sheep and a very large vegetable garden along with an Apple and pear orchard..... we were self-sufficient growing most of our own food eating of the land picking field mushrooms by the bucket full at this time of year and eating hot apple pies with fresh apples straight of the trees milking our own cow for all the family’s milk cream and butter this is living. At Tyneside I planted out 25 years ago many fruit trees and we are able to eat from the land with a small veggie garden in comparison to my fathers and all the citrus nuts and fruit trees you could wish for...... I must say I do enjoy this way of life.
