11.01.2022 The Ivy and Joe Studio will be closed for the short term. Social distancing is impossible for hairdressers - we are literally touching peoples heads all day. It would be irresponsible for us to continue operating whilst we as a society are doing everything we can to flatten the curve. Our chances of catching and spreading COVID-19 to our vulnerable loved ones increase with every appointment. We are all in this together and we take our social responsibility seriously. Our clie...nts have been amazing during this time - purchasing shampoo, conditioner & at home treatments along with gift cards to help us with the financial hit they know this pandemic will take on small businesses like ours. 08.01.2022 [IVY AND JOE - OPEN AGAIN] Wow. What an intense time we have been living in! Toilet paper shortages, home hair care delivery kits, tiger king, a slightly unhealthy obsession with TikTok and hand sanitiser. But, we’re happy to be stepping into the studio again and inviting you all back (one at a time).... We’ll have appointments available on Monday - Friday evenings and during the day on Saturday & Sundays. To prepare for your grand re-entry back into the studio we have a few more rules for our appointments: Our door will be locked during your appointment. This is to stop walk-ins and unnecessary contact. It will also invariably result in an awkward interaction when the appointment is over, please prepare yourself. When you first come into the studio we will direct you to the hand-washing station. You’re a pro at this now so you have a chance to show off your brilliant hand washing technique. Don’t bring a friend. Or a family member. Or any tagalongs if you can help it. Normally we love your entourage as much as you but we need to keep the space as empty as possible. If you’re sick or have been exposed please stay at home. This should go without saying and you 100% know the drill. We feel that it's not enough to be non-racist, we must stand in solidarity with BIPOC, who we acknowledge have been fighting this battle for hundreds of years. Anti-racism is active. We commit to doing more - We are watching, we are listening, we are learning. We also acknowledge that this is not just a USA problem. We have seen over 400 indigenous deaths in custody in Australia since 1991. As a first step, we are putting our money where our mouth is.
