One key reason is that many men are still struggling with identifying and talking about negative emotions and stress....Many health problems could indeed be avoided through lifestyle changes, more sustainable ways of coping with stress, and through a better life-work balance." 16.01.2022 It is with sadness that we share the news of David Jansens passing. A minister, therapist, and educator, David was the founder of Jansen Newman Institute (JNI), an integral part of Torrens University and THINK Education. David made an extraordinary contribution to Torrens University and THINK Education and we are where we are today because in part we stand on the shoulders of giants including JNI. The story of JNI and of David is fundamental to not only our past and present ...but also to our future. David made an extraordinary contribution to the lives of many staff and students at JNI and for this, we would like to express our sincere thanks. Davids funeral will be held at 2pm on Tuesday 28th Jan 2020 at Laurieton Anglican Church, Lakewood NSW. Our thoughts, prayers and well wishes are with Davids family, and his wife Margaret.

08.01.2022 #Repost @laureatehsc A little empathy can go a long way toward ending infectious disease outbreaks. This is the conclusion of a study published by Georgia Institute of Technology in 2017. We are always alert to protect ourselves against flu contamination. However, this study shows that "The behavior of the infected individuals can be more important than the behavior of the susceptible individuals in eradicating the disease," said Ceyhun Eksin, a postdoctoral fellow in ...the laboratory of Georgia Tech School of Biological Sciences Professor Joshua S. Weitz. "A little bit of empathy can be crucial at this point." What an amazing new world we could create if we were able to see with the eyes of another, listen with the ears of another and feeling with the heart of another! That is precisely one of our missions regarding to our students: train them to be much more than only competent health professionals. We want to train them to be Exceptionally Empathetic and Highly Competent Health Professionals! Journal reference: 1. Ceyhun Eksin, Jeff S. Shamma, Joshua S. Weitz. Disease dynamics in a stochastic network game: a little empathy goes a long way in averting outbreaks.
