24.01.2022 Currently going through a phase where I forget Im introverted when Im DJing. Brissy gigs of late have been very fun (see photo for evidence). 22.01.2022 Hey mates, just checking in! I hope everyones doing well - its good to see that announcements today around COVID-19 are beginning to sound really positive. I just wanted to let you know I am putting together an hour long mix! Usually I only put out 1-2 mixes a year with my Splendour Mix being the big one. But after teasing some edits Ive made recently, I did get a handful of messages asking if a longer mix might be in the works, and I realised... there probably should be!... So today I started that process, which is a lengthy one for me. Everyone has their process, mine is probably messier and slower than others but it yields the best result (to me). And this it what that looks like! So, heres to hopefully having something to share with you in the near future! Take care until then

17.01.2022 Just back from holidays and wanted to share with you that I have just finished a project with the Brisbane Heat! They asked me to produce two mixes for their innings break fireworks and light show for their upcoming season. Can't wait to see and hear it live - keep an ear out if you're heading to any games this season :) Thanks to Brisbane Heat for the opportunity.

16.01.2022 Quick update for you all: I hope you're all well - sorry again for dropping off the radar entirely. While I've been gone I've been working 4 jobs, playing club AFL (of which we are 2020 Premiers), and moving out of home for the first time. Gigs are starting to pick up a lot here in Brisbane and I'm fortunate to be getting booked, so thanks to Ling Lings, Ivory Tusk Brisbane, Su Casa for that. Still waiting for my beloved OP aka Our Place to re-open fresh from its renovations,... and there might be a couple more in the works... I'm also very close to hitting 3k followers on SoundCloud - thank you for that! If you wanted to help me hit 3k, I may or may not have an edit pack to give you... www.soundcloud.com/jaymakdj I've noticed a few friends keeping consistent with the livestreaming as COVID restrictions continue to gradually ease, a few have even made some money off it which is cool. 12.01.2022 'Mental health' is a phrase we hear a lot these days. But despite the increased prevalence, there's still very little action - or at least publicly. It makes sense, it is a personal and isolating struggle, but thankfully someone is standing up. A friend of mine named Jon (Wheres Jonny) has just released an incredibly vulnerable series - self-directed, about his struggle with depression. Considering this week is Queensland Mental Health Week, I feel there is no more app...ropriate time to share this with as many of you as possible. 10.01.2022 Hey mates, what a strange time at the moment! I hope you're all staying safe. I'm feeling the impacts of COVID-19 much like everyone, out of work, significant loss of income, and the resulting stress of what that means moving forward. It can be tricky staying positive but try and think of this down time as an 'opportunity'. For example, peep this new press shot. I've been needing to get these done for years and finally forced myself to get it done now that I have no exc...use. There are a bunch of other shots but this one was probably my favourite - shoutout to Shon Sim for the great camera work. To make more use of the free time, I'm borrowing some CDJs this coming Sunday so I can spend the week putting together content to hopefully keep you momentarily entertained whilst in lockdown. I've also thought about doing a live-stream mix... entirely open format (like I always play): cheesey/pop, trap, hip hop, indie, rock - just about everything. He's even captured the moment Greta says 'right here, right now' and uses that to create the most epic build up into the drop. Simple but powerful. 07.01.2022 Just picked up those CDJs Im borrowing for the week, cant wait to muck around and shoot some videos. If youve got the time and any decks of your own, try learn some basic scratching this week. Its a great way to add another element to your sets and less and less people are doing it these days. There's plenty to like on this lineup (for me at least), and plenty to thank Newcastle and Sandstone Point Hotel for in making this happen.
