04.01.2022 Introducing our 2021 Nationals Uniform. Korero behind the design: Artist: Hamuera Pugh... Descriptive Meaning Behind this piece: M pango, m whero ka oti te mahi" This whakatauki speaks about everyone coming together - with your skills and our skills we can get the job done. This concept is appropriate not only because of the colours of our association, but also the message that it represents; The haehae designs represents the currents of the harbour coming together; The kape designs represents whnau/awhi (whanaungatanga); The puhoro designs (not filled in) represent whnau support, and how important it is to our community; The puhoro designs (filled in) represent the team itself and incorporates designs of courage and strength such as niho taniwha (serrated teeth). This design takes into account feedback from our CMTA community via two surveys completed this year. Feedback was also sought from members of our community directly including tamariki, youth players, Open players, Masters players, coaches, managers and life members. It was important to our community that we incorporate a cultural link reflective of our diverse province. We’re really excited to see our community don this new strip come tournament time, and wear it with pride. #wearecounties - KB Sportswear
