Zac chose to become a Plumber for the job security which quite often comes with a trade and is striving to become a better plumber than his Dad which is a tall order as his Dad, Bob is an exceptional one. Zac loves coming to work because of the family environment Kelly’s provides and because the team has each other’s backs. Zac’s hobbies include working on a mate’s race car and travelling all over Australia (when Covid allows it) Something people don’t know about Zac is he can play the Saxophone still trying to get him to be the entertainment at a Kelly’s function but he is resisting. 18.01.2022 Energy Saving Tip If you have vents in ceiling for Evaporative Air Conditioner this tip may save you some money Remove one of the vents to use as a template, trace around vent on cardboard, cut out , put vent back in ceiling and then push cardboard into hole . Even if you close the vents, warm air can escape through them so by putting cardboard up stops this from happening.... You will be able to put your heating on a lower setting hence saving money on running costs. Footnote: our vents are over 25 years old hence the discolouration.

Jim started with Kelly’s in 2008 and worked 4 years full time and now works on a casual basis when when Geoff needs his hand held ... Jim entered the Gasfitting industry over 4 decades ago and has a wealth of knowledge that Kelly’s are privileged to draw on. Jim likes gasfitting as he finds it very challenging. Jim enjoys speedway, jet boats, crabbing and caravanning. He also has a side business called Dynamic Sound which provides Public Address Sounds systems for the likes of Waroona/Harvey Shows and local school sports days. COVID was detrimental to Jim’s Dynamic Sound Business but luckily Kelly’s kept him busy with gas heater servicing during the winter months.

Lisa loves to dress up as Where’s Wally to promote businesses and events under the persona Wally fun with Lisa. Lisa attends a lot of concerts and enjoys connecting a disconnected society by getting people to dance on the train from Perth to Mandurah after the concert. COVID has been a crazy period for the business but Kelly’s were one of the lucky ones that continued to trade and actually thrive during this time. Lisa and Geoff also bought a caravan which enables them to venture out to enjoy the beautiful state called WA.

13.01.2022 I find it hard to believe it was 22 years ago Geoff and I made the decision to start our own business It was scary taking the plunge, but from the word go we made the decision to trade Monday to Friday (unless there was a real emergency we would do weekend call outs). We had a young family and did not want work to take over family life, and to this day we have a great work/ life balance hence why we are not burnt out We are still a small business, enabling us t...o continue using the catch cry Robbing Work off the Big Boys We are lucky to have fantastic current team members but also have friendships with past team members who have moved on. 12.01.2022 GET TO KNOW THE TEAM Tim Minoughan - Plumber/Gasfitter. Tim became a plumber because he was lucky to have an apprenticeship handed to him and he hasn’t looked back since.... Tim enjoys the job because every job is a challenge and he learns something new everyday. Outside of work he loves to spend time with his family, is a massive West Coast Eagles supporter and anything to do with motor sports and methanol really. Something people may not know about Tim is he played the drums through his school days and reckons he can probably still hold down a beat. Tim is passionate about his Family and Trade which is a great benefit to Kelly’s. COVID was kind to Tim and Kelly’s as people were spending money on their properties rather than holidays which kept him very busy.

10.01.2022 GET TO KNOW THE TEAM Geoff Kelly - co founder and owner of Kelly’s since 1998. Geoff chose to become a Plumber in the UK as it was the only job available at the time. In hindsight, it was a great decision as his trade enabled him to obtain a Visa to migrate to Australia in 1993.... Geoff enjoys being involved in the plumbing industry which presents new challenges, and opportunities to meet people from all walks of life. Rugby is Geoff’s # 1 passion and now due to COVID a caravan is part of the Kelly household and he is embracing the Leyland Brother lifestyle. Something people may not know about Geoff is that he wanted to be an airline pilot. In COVID times plumbing was definitely a better career choice as is classed as an essential service.

02.01.2022 This is one of the reasons Kellys have made the tough decision to turn away inside jobs since the outbreak of COVID 19. This obviously has been a cost to us but the wellbeing of our team is more important than money We have followed the lead of Master Plumbers & Gasfitters Association of WA in this regard. This was an unknown but MPA predicted this outcome so were a step ahead in advising their members of this possibility. Unless Plumbers are able to get the correct Personal Protective Equipment, they are putting their own and the greater communities health at risk.
