23.01.2022 Something to think about for the weekend.

20.01.2022 No Passport Required So much has been happening. This week there are a number of changes to visas and passports. New legislation commencing 17 November 2018 removes the need to present a physical passport for Smartgate entrants at specifically enabled international ports, if their passport details are already stored electronically. This new system may be used at international ports with this capability, for the following processes: immigration clearance on arrival in Aust...ralia (under section 166 of the Act); the grant of a Special Category visa (a visa for New Zealand citizens) at the border (under section 32 of the Act); and verifying the identity of domestic travellers who are travelling on an overseas vessel with international travellers (under section 170 of the Act), for example, where domestic travellers embark on an aircraft carrying international travellers and all travellers disembark at the same port in Australia. A physical passport will still be required in specific situations including where identity cannot be established by this new method or where integrity concerns exist. This new process is designed to create greater efficiencies in border processing.

09.01.2022 Applying for a Regional Visa is becoming more and more competitive. NSW's Central West opened up for applications yesterday, 20 August and closed today 21 August due to the overwhelming response. Contact us on [email protected] if you would like further updates.

08.01.2022 It has been a week since my last post - and there is quite a bit to tell, so I will let you know one at a time. With the changes to the 457 Visas, it is getting more difficult to find a pathway to Permanent Visas in Australia. But there is one state that has added its own visa allowing applicants to live and work for up to four years, and then apply for permanent residency. That state is Tasmania. It is a really beautiful part of the world, and a minimum of two years living and working there could allow you to apply to stay permanently in Australia - anywhere. Message me if you would like more details.

03.01.2022 NSW has just re-opened the subclass 190 programme and released their 2018/2019 Skills list. The selection criteria is the same but there are no Stream Two invitations anymore. NSW does not have a specific date for invitations. If you would like help with your application just email us at [email protected] https://www.industry.nsw.gov.au//nsw-skilled-occupations-l

02.01.2022 Something to think about for the weekend

01.01.2022 Here is some good news for the weekend! The Western Australian Government has announced that it will be developing a new occupation list for skilled graduates of WA universities. High achieving education graduates - PhD, Masters, Honours and other higher degree graduates - will have a pathway to skilled migration, with priority consideration for State Nominated migration. The introduction of this list is expected to also increase the number of international students choosing to study in WA. The existing WA Skilled Migration Occupation List will not be affected.
