Since migrating to Australia, late 1990, most of career has been working in a Public Accounting firm. I am enjoying handling taxation issues and providing tax advice to clients. ... 24.10.2021 Meet Kathy Before I opened KF & Associates I worked in several senior management roles, this gave me valuable experience in working in large companies and managing teams. The practice opened in 2014 and continues to grow each year in both revenue and staff, we now have 6 hard working staff members and 1 business associate (Fred <>). I never feel that I go to work each day, I get to do what I love doing. Working with business owners to solve problems, explai...n complex taxation matters to them or upskilling our team at KF & Associates. We are currently working on several projects both here in Australia and in USA that are extremely exciting, dealing with 5 different time zones can be challenging at times. As with any Accountant, I spent a long time at University and additional professional qualifications, it is all part of the fun (Registered Tax Agent, CPA, Bachelor of Business Management, Bachelor of Commerce, CPA Public Practice). 14.10.2021 From 1 November 2021 there are new rules for employers in regards to superannuation if they have new employees start and they do NOT nominate a super fund. The employer needs to take steps to find the employee’s ‘Stapled Super Fund’, this can be done via ATO Online Services or your Tax Agent. A Stapled Super Fund is an existing super account that is ‘linked’ or ‘stapled’ to an individual employee so it follows them as they change jobs. This aims to reduce account fees, avoiding new super accounts being opened every time an employee starts a new job. Please feel free to contact us if you need further advice
