24.01.2022 Hi Members, As per the below information. I must sadly advise that tomorrows competition is cancelled. ... I do feel that this rule may be changed in the coming days however Golf in WA at the moment can only be played in singles unless you reside with your playing partner. We will still be open tomorrow for any members that wish to come and play by themselves and carts will still be available to hire. I will continue to update you all as things change and hopefully the governing bodies and governments realise that social distancing can still happen on the golf course in groups of more than 2. If you can please remove your name from tomorrow's start sheet to enable us to see who we need to contact that may have not seen the emails and messages. Please continue to stay safe. Golf Australia and GMA communication regarding COVID-19 for Kwinana Golf Club Dear Western Australian golf clubs and facilities, As you are aware, COVID-19 or the Coronavirus as it is more commonly known, has created global health concerns regarding the disease and its infection rates. Golf Australia is writing to provide further assistance and guidance to our clubs and facilities on this important topic. Specifically in this instance, the latest advice states that golf cannot be played in WA in groups of two or more, unless those people normally reside together. This communication is Western Australia specific and contains guidance from the WA Government. Please note, all information communicated by Golf Australia to date will be located on our website at https://www.golf.org.au/covid-19/. Our communications moving forward will contain only new information and updates. It is Golf Australias recommendation to clubs and facilities that advice from the Australian Governments Department of Health should be monitored closely over the coming days and weeks, as well as the Australian Governments Smartraveller website. Advice may change from day to day. Please note, Golf Australia remains fully operational for all of your clubs and facilities support, rules and handicapping and competition management requirements. 13.01.2022 Recent lesson with our Vice President Kochy. He has a tendency to throw the hands out and not in on the takeaway (picture 1) which affects his rotation/pivot. As you can see in the second picture he has added rotation and better pivot which has shallowed his club angle at the top of his swing setting him up for better contact. 04.01.2022 *UPDATED* GolfWA wishes to advise the following information that we have received from Clubs WA. The playing of golf can continue provided the social distancin...g measures are in place. All licensed clubhouses should be immediately closed, with no food or beverage service taking place. Take away style food and non-alcoholic beverage can be sold out of the proshop, halfway hut or catering cart. Clubs should not provide any seated areas. It is important that golf clubs and facilities adhere to these restrictions to ensure golf can continue to be played and is not seen as flouting the restrictions in place for other businesses. In accordance with Federal Government advice around social distancing, it is mandatory that golf cart use is limited to one person per cart. The updated information below comes directly from the Liquor Enforcement Unit: - Playing golf on all courses accepted as long as social distancing rules followed - Pro Shops open is okay - however strictly no food or alcohol sales from these (food okay if there is a window for pickup only) - Take-away food WILL be allowed FROM A WINDOW/KIOSK or home delivery and consumption of take-away food on the golf course would be okay Please note that this information can change at any time and we will communicate any updates with you.
