20.01.2022 The Tasmanian Government is looking to lift restrictions on entry to the State from safe jurisdictions if monitoring and preparedness suggests it is safe to do so. In preparation for this, the State Control Centre’s Public Information Unit is supporting the University of Tasmania to deliver a survey, which aims to understand community’s attitudes and concerns in relation to border management and compliance measures. This survey is part of a series that is being conducted as T...asmania progresses through the phases of the COVID-19 crisis to recovery and beyond. The findings will help to inform Public Information Unit’s work on longer-term community behavioural change for COVID-19 safety. 11.01.2022 Applications are invited for the part-time position of Cultural Development Officer. The successful candidate will have demonstrated interest or involvement in an arts, cultural development and/or events management environment. Responsibilities of this role will include supporting the volunteers of the King Island Arts & Cultural Centre, administering Council’s Artist in Residence program, assisting with the development and implementation of policies relating to arts and cultural development, and managing Council’s small annual calendar of community events. 04.01.2022 TRAFFIC WARNING Please be careful when travelling along Fraser Road and Wicks Road (on the bitumen sealed section). There has been a fertilizer spill which is making the road surface very slippery. Please adhere to signage instructions which have been erected for your safety.



03.01.2022 Council has been advised by Telstra that there is a digital video network outage due to a mains power issue at Gentle Annie, so you may be experiencing some problems with TV reception. We have been told they are working on a solution, and will share any further information we receive via our Facebook page.
