25.01.2022 We hope to be reopening the club very soon however before doing so we require approval and clarification from Geelong Council. It is imperative for the health, safety and wellbeing of our members that we follow the directions of a number of external governing bodies. Please be patient and we will provide an update as soon as possible!

24.01.2022 Our AGM and presentation night was held in the clubrooms last night, Lara's first lady president was elected, congratulations Pip Ward, it was announced the green in front of the clubrooms will be resurfaced beginning next month. 24.01.2022 If you haven’t got your name down for midweek or Saturday pennant this season, there’s a list up out the front of the bowls club. If you happen to be driving past, stop by and jot your name on the list. If you’ve put your name down prior to lockdown 2.0, there is no need to do it again. The season will be commencing in Jan 2021 for 9 games, 21 ends straight through with no break and no promotion or relegation!

23.01.2022 ATTENTION PLAYERS! Club event lists are up on the board at the club. Entries close end of October and first rounds will start first Saturday in November. Rounds will be played Friday's, Saturday's and Sunday's up to Christmas which doubles as good practice for pennant in starting in January 2021. Get your name down next time you’re at the club!

08.01.2022 Congatulations to Brendan Umbers winning his third club singles at the Lara Bowls Club, a great standard game and Alan Gillett is to be proud of the consistent bowls he played up to the final but could not match Brendan's consistency, final score 25-17. Perfect conditions and a good size crowd appreciated the standard both players delivered.

08.01.2022 I’m not going to lie, COVID sucks, it’s significantly impacted all our lives and it seems each time we turn on the news there is another frightening statistic that makes you think when will this be over? Let’s change our thinking, even if for a few moments and consider what part of all this have you liked/loved..... eg. I’ve loved lockdown because it has given me an opportunity to slow down and appreciate the basic things in life

07.01.2022 Important COVID Information for Saturday's Pennant Game Entry to the club will be via the side gate, front door will be locked Home Teams - Players playing at home required to sign in. If you are bringing spectators they are required to sign in via sign in sheet inside clubrooms or one of the QR codes. Masks are to be worn when in the clubrooms. Team Managers will be provided with a list of players and their phone numbers from the opposition club Team Manager on their arrival... which means opposition clubs do not need to sign in unless they have spectators/visitors.The COVID Marshall is the highest playing Team Manager and will provide instructions prior to commencement of play and will ensure social distancing and other requirements are adhered to across the course of play. There will be antibacterial wipes and hand sanitiser at the end of each rink, wipes are to be used each time the jack is handled by a different player. It is the responsibility of the duty rink to ensure that the wipes and sanitiser are placed into the mat and jack cupboard at the conclusion of play. Duty rinks are also required to sell raffle tickets to everyone prior to the commencement of play with the raffle being drawn immediately at the conclusion of play. Away Teams - If you are attending Lara BC prior to play, you are required to sign in. Team Managers will be provided with a list of players and their phone numbers to give to the opposition club Team Manager on their arrival which means you do not have to sign in at the opposition club. If you have spectators/visitors with you, they will be required to sign in. Enjoy our long awaited pennant return everyone and ensure you practice social distancing and adhere to all COVID requirements.

04.01.2022 It is with much sadness that I share the news of Lionel Hunt’s passing last night after a short illness. Lionel was a loved member of our club and mate to many. Lionel was one of our unsung heroes last season, coming to play despite being unwell to ensure we weren’t short on players. The Board and Members thoughts are with Lyn, Lionel’s family and friends at this time.

Janet passed away on Tuesday 6 October 2020. Our thoughts are with Dennis and his family at this time.
