08.01.2022 We had a wonderful Little Gardeners session on Monday celebrating the Larrakia Seasons with Leslie Gordon, local Aboriginal woman and cultural educator. Leslie ...grew up on Larrakia saltwater country with the natural surrounds being her playground, and to hunt and harvest from. She is very passionate and knowledgeable about local bush foods. Leslie had great cultural activities for the children. She read Dalba Larrakia Baby by Larrakia Minbeni Rangers while children coloured in animals in the book on a picture of a seasonal calendar that we have a large version of at the garden. Leslie showed us local native plants that we can eat, play with, use as products for dyes and to make soap. We highly recommend Leslie! See more
