25.01.2022 Sleeping Louise style lol

23.01.2022 Hot day help out turns to be mind blowing for an innocent angel

23.01.2022 The man and his chook. They have cuddles in bed, share food and hang out listening to records.

21.01.2022 Lady Greer (adopted from your special needs pen in May 2017). Hanging out in my bathtub, out of the heat :)

21.01.2022 This is Anna, anna came with a cut comb and a bit ruffled. Look at her now. Not the same chickadee

20.01.2022 Roofurkey was dumped in Mannering Park, no doubt the result of some idiotic hatching program or ignorant breeder. He is now located at Mandalong near morisset NSW. To give him a good home please CALL 0415258915. Our usual rules apply so no breeding by means of incubating or allowing hens to sit on the eggs.

18.01.2022 Louise says goodnight :)

18.01.2022 Any generous refrigeration technicians, or, more importantly, any manipulative partners of refrigeration technicians following here? The job is on our new cool room at Mandalong near morisset NSW. We only need the gas piping work done as I am an electrician. An hour or two max. Please CALL 0415258915 if can help. Thankyou so much

18.01.2022 Dickheads of the week award goes to the lowlife that dumped these 5 angels on the m1. Thanks to Anne from pocket pets for alerting us to the post. It took me a little time to find them and "convince" them to join me in the cab. Now they are eye candy in the pen next to the rooster pen lol. UPDATE: I've named them Em1, Highway, and, North and South....and there's Sleepy, which sounded so much better than Couldn'tgivafuk; she refused to stop sunbaking and was the easy rescue lol

18.01.2022 When your beautiful rescue girl isn’t scared of anything!

18.01.2022 Actual phone conversation. Caller: I got 20 hens off you a few years back and there's only 6 left now; are you still doing it. Me: Yes we're still educating people to stop eating eggs. Caller: Can I come and get 20 off you tomorrow? Me: The maximum at present is 6 because of all the covid wankers looking to get them just for their eggs; it sorts out the men from the boys. A true rescuer will travel to help even 1 animal, whereas an exploiter won't because it's not worth the...ir time. Callee: It's not worth it for 6. Me: indeed See more

16.01.2022 I know i shouldn't make fun of her, but, the situations that I find Louise in daily are, well, she's very "special" lol.

15.01.2022 Never ever give up! The seemingly impossible can happen. Less than 24 hours ago Em1 and the crew could not have imagined a way for morning tea to look like this :)

15.01.2022 Our girls, using their new chicnic table! Back row: Upsy Daisy, Banannas, Feathers, Front row: Henrietta, Little Little, Aleggsandra.

13.01.2022 Obviously we get a fair percentage of problematic girls here; many die. Before now we had no real answer for ovarian tumour except special pen before inside icu and pain meds. A while ago we stumbled across some human animal literature that seemed promising, and, as these girls were on death row anyway I picked the worst one and rolled the dice. Just 30 days ago the girl in the last video and belly photo was worse than the girl I used in comparison video and belly photo. She was so bad I couldn't even carry her because she couldn't breathe when I picked her up from the growth pushing on her lungs. If you get a girl similar please call or have your avian specialist vet call us rather than just kill her. Obviously we have abandoned the trial and just started all 4 current girls on the same routine.

12.01.2022 Lost a girl to a paralysis tick tonight Shared for your information and awareness.

11.01.2022 I could totally see Louise doing this https://www.facebook.com/groups/zoopictures/permalink/3521409111243113/

11.01.2022 If I was tech savvy I could add the music from "I know what boys like" to Em1's little border patrol lol. https://youtu.be/USlSwvd0-5A

11.01.2022 RIP Dotty no more feeling the carpet of those that leave the windows down on their cars. You were no trouble to anyone; even your carpet feeling fetish was innocent.

10.01.2022 Inspirational! Annie and her Seeing Eye Human, Samantha. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10221144510420450&id=1393033604337741&sfnsn=mo&extid=sP6r0mumJqwi5nlS&d=n&vh=i

10.01.2022 The lucky girls get to perch on the poles. The unlucky girls huddle on the cold floor to sleep. One of the "best" free range egg farms in Australia. "Free range..." doesn't mean comfort, it doesn't mean happiness. It literally just means you believe you are making the kindest choice. These hens receive no vet care. These hens suffer quietly in flocks of up to 60,000 where they are relentless bullied in a hierarchal system gone mad (chickens are not meant to live in flocks so large). These hens suffer from illness that is not tended to and have their necks broken when they are too unwell to move. These hens all get sent to slaughter before 2 years old. The kindest choice is actually to stop eating eggs. The Price Of Eggs

09.01.2022 Louise is "Special"

06.01.2022 We appreciate all donations; especially those that set up regular small donations :) Some have asked how to donate. There is a donate button at the top of this page; you can use this link directly https://donorbox.org/let-the-ladies-go Or direct to our bank account BSB 082936 Account 529338642 Name Let The Ladies Go pty ltd. Recommend you use the website as a tax deductible receipt is automatically sent to you (magically if you ask my level of computer skills). Thank you f...or your support; you're awesome! Adoptions are now by application. We do not charge for anything we do; we do it to educate the public about the cruelty behind egg consumption, the exploitation of other animals for their products. For every bird animal that has been genetically mutated to lay more eggs than the 6 to 12 per year that all birds naturally lay, a boy, a rooster, is killed as waste product. The hens themselves will be killed at 18 months old after lives of suffering, yes even the feel good titles of "free range" and "organic free range". The link for adoption is https://forms.gle/bzZkmRmvz1k5RCmm9 As we have so far rescued and rehomed over 40 thousand chickens we also need volunteers, especially regulars; if you live near morisset nsw and could spare a few hours a week please call 0415258915; feeding takes one person around 9 hours a day; even if several volunteers did an hour or two each per week it would free up time for maintenance and construction :)

05.01.2022 Sorry for the lack of updates; it has been insanely busy! Worked from 6.30am Sunday morning until 10.30pm Monday night straight. It's not my record by far but 40 hours of non stop physical work is not too shabby lol. I got dinner at 1am this morning, I sat down to eat it at 10.30pm but, according to my daughter, just fell asleep with the dinner plate on my lap and a fork in my hand

04.01.2022 Too hot for Gurgley today, so, as we still have no ac it's a "helper" day

03.01.2022 Please consider becoming a regular donor. $2.00 a month you won't miss and it's tax deductible. We have a major rescue due in a month's time and not enough money to reregister our farm pickup truck. We also do weekly trips to our vets. Those trips entail not only the vet fees and fuel but over $40 in toll fees. Yes I know i could take the long way; however, it is already 6 hours of my time to do that vet run and there's only one of me; the rest of the work still needs to be done before and after. A massive thanks to all those that already make regular donations; you guys are awesome! How to donate is explained on our website and in the first post on the Facebook page.

01.01.2022 UPDATE: Despite comments saying they'd call and "if onlys" no one has CALLED yet. As per all of our posts, please give very little heed to what is said in the comments. Three boys looking for a home. Location, Wollongong area. More victims of our school system. If you can give a good home please CALL 0415258915. Our usual rules apply, so no breeding, incubating, allowing sitting on eggs etc.

01.01.2022 Sorry for the lack of updates; the rain has been relentless! Obviously I've been struggling in it, and constantly drenched. Even parts of the main pen's sleeping area inside is underwater! Finding clean areas to feed them has been difficult. The Ladies like the Sun so they're a tad depressed; however, i've managed to keep almost all entertained; one girl has died :( The roads have been flooded in but I still forced our ute to swim through to get their food; it is running a little rough now though. Jill and Terry braved the rain last week and erected a fence I've been trying to get time to do for 3 years! They really are awesome!
