23.01.2022 See you tomorrow for one of our services at 930am or 11am!

23.01.2022 I talked to someone yesterday who was at work - they said they nearly stayed home to have a ’Sad’ day. Can anyone relate? The kind of day where you take a look at the world and decide that you’d much prefer to get back under the doona and just let yourself be sad. Sometimes those days come when your schedule is packed and there is no time for sadness. Then, miraculously you might manage to feel that way on a day when it’s actually possible to stop your world all day (very... rare indeed). Why does our world and our culture teach us that being sad is something that you should do behind closed doors? Why do we get so busy with our everyday that we feel like we don’t have the time to experience our emotions properly? We push them to the background where they can become hazardous to our health. In the Bible Job got lots of bad news, When Job heard this, he got up and tore his robe and shaved his head to show how sad he was. Then he bowed down to the ground to worship God. I’m pretty sure that the tearing the robe and shaving the head was a culturally appropriate way of showing sadness - I’m definite that the ‘Worshipping God’ in the midst of sadness is not the easiest thing to do, but possibly the most important. Take time to chat to God through the good and the bad and the sad times. God actually loves you - even when it feels like everyone else on the planet doesn’t. Please hit the like button, just this once, to let others know that you can relate to this too. See more

22.01.2022 Christmas is coming... 42 days! Have you thought about the real reason for the season? Baby Jesus - Coming into this world to save us from our own silly actions? Have you thought about how you will share this message with others? Now is the time to get organised....I dare you! In my house there are only nativity themed decorations. I have a big inflatable nativity light for the front yard and I have just ordered my nativity themed Christmas tshirts!... You can do it too! Instead of meaningless santa and reindeer why don't you join me in spreading the joy of Jesus birth! See more

21.01.2022 He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love him and obey his commands. - Deuteronomy 7:9

21.01.2022 Men love watching sport!! A bold statement. Its true that a lot of men do love watching sport. Its true that there a quite a few men that do NOT enjoy watching sport. Women love going shopping. Again - very true and NOT true at the same time. We often make generalisations when we are talking about others. When is the last time you spent some time with someone and came away with a whole new perspective on who they are and what they do? Its only when we spend time ...with others - with the attitude of giving them a break from our normal perception of them - that we can actually get to know and understand someone. Andrew Denton hosted a tv show from 2003-2008 called Enough Rope with Andrew Denton - With in-depth interviews he used to spend time really trying to understand other peoples perspectives. There is an old saying that if you give someone enough rope theyll eventually hang themselves (get themselves in trouble). I heard Denton asked about the name of his show and his thought was that if you give someone enough rope (time and attention) that they would in fact become a lot more real and understandable to everyone. I had to change my attitude recently and give a few people a break - it actually made me feel better when I could see the good in them. Perhaps you might need to give someone a break today. It goes back to the golden rule, Do to others as you would have them do to you. (Matthew 7:12) See more

19.01.2022 There is sad news and good news. The sad news is that the discount fee for Summer Camps ended on the 30th November. The good news is registration is still open so you haven't missed out. Juniors (10-12) or Teens (13-17) Through the generosity of our wider church family and local church support, we are able to offer a limited number of sponsorship for Summer Camp. We have also set up a Trust Fund in which people can donate to so we can continue to provide sponsorship for ev...ents such as Summer Camp and future Youth Department programs. 15.01.2022 I find myself on a school camp for a few days. Year 6 - not the most thoughtful people on the planet. Can you remember when you were 11yrs old? What kind of decisions were you making? What was important to you? What activities did you enjoy doing. There is a sandhill just in front of our accomodation. A game of spotlight to get to the top of the sandhill seems to be the funnest thing to do in the world. After giving it a go it turns out that it is a whole lot of fun. ... I can still manage to keep up with them - for a time. Are you still trying to keep up with other people? Wether it be physically, job wise, possessions or any other comparison - Its not the best idea to compare. I believe that when God created you - there was an idea of the potential that was built into you. You get to choose. There was to be no comparison with your neighbour - you were made different - on purpose. The potential is still in you. I believe that God created me to be a Praisemaker - that positive person that sometimes gets annoying because they often see the glass as overflowing. Wherever you find yourself today - whatever comparisons you are making - make a choice today to to take a positive step. Joshua 24:25 says, .choose for yourselves this day whom you will serveBut as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord. See more

10.01.2022 "I never tire of telling the story my husband told me over and over and over again. How, when young and... "chasing the American dream", while living in Phoenix, Arizona, he was walking along one of the canals in the city, wondering if there was more to life than working and paying bills and going to bed only to get up the next day and spend it working and paying bills and going to bed. As he walked along, the Holy Spirit suddenly came upon Him. He always smiled as he told this part of the story, adding that when Gods Spirit touched him, he felt a warm sensation from the top of his head all the way through him to the bottom of his feet. As he took his next step, it was as though the eyes of his heart had been opened, and for the first time, he really saw life. He saw birds flying above him. He saw flowers lining the path before him. He heard children playing nearby. He felt the warmth of the sun and noticed the breeze on his face. He saw the beauty of life, and he heard God tell him, "This is life. Appreciate it - appreciate everything about it." Knowing Gods presence was with him, he continued walking until he came to a church in the heart of the city. He went in, sat down, and pulled out a Bible from the hymn rack on the back of the pew in front of him. As he opened the pages of Gods Holy Word, God led him to Matthew 6:33 - the first words he ever read from the Bible: "Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you." THIS - this is the yes that matters most of all.~" Stacy L. Sanchez See more

05.01.2022 On the weekend I found myself with an extra 10 people staying at my house! That means more demands that need to be met. More demand on the facilities - the toilet, bathroom and kitchen. Waiting to use the toilet is not what I always want to do. Negotiating with others as to who gets to use the shower first, second and third etc can be interesting. 10 extra people in the kitchen can make breakfast time a physical juggle. The demands on your time increase as well. You w...onder if everyone’s doing ok and want to spend time with them all. Does your life feel like a constant juggle sometimes? All the time? Look at all the people in your life - which ones bring you joy and peace? Which ones make you want to tear your hair out? What effect do you have on those around you? There’s some good advice given in Romans 12 9 Your love must be real. Hate what is evil, and hold on to what is good. 10 Love each other like brothers and sisters. Give each other more honour than you want for yourselves. It continues in verse 18 with something that is difficult to do (but rewarding), 18 Do your best to live in peace with everyone. It encourages us to genuinely do our best - not just the token try. To actually make it a priority to get along with everyone. We might have to focus less on ourselves - what a wonderful world it will be. See more

03.01.2022 What hot drink is your poison? As a kid, Milo was the only choice in our house. It wasnt very often when it would come out. I do remember that we used to put condensed milk into it to sweeten it up. The condensed milk used to come in small, half size, cans. I was caught once or twice with the can to my mouth enjoying just the sweetness. I cant remember the last time I had milo - or condensed milk. Sometimes you learn a behaviour that sticks with you for a long time -... sometimes you move on as you grow onto better or worse behaviours. The good news is - there is no behaviour that you cant change for the better! Obviously, drinking water is a pretty good behaviour that you shouldnt change - its good in itself. I wont even give suggestions, because you can already think of at least 3 things that you do that could do with a change (I can think of more for me). 2 Corinthians 5:17 encourages us by saying - If anyone belongs to Christ, there is a new creation. The old things have gone; everything is made new! Anything is possible! See more
