24.01.2022 Happy Mothers Day to all the beautiful Mothers out there. These are two of mine. One has raised me up through extremely tough times to be a strong but caring person I am today. The other has put up with me for almost a life sentence and gave birth to two beautiful little girls that I hope one day, will be like their mother and grandmother. Enjoy your day.

22.01.2022 We had planned to resume pre-COVID trading hours - to close at 5pm in the near future as we move towards normality. However, Hai, the smiley face you see every morning, was admitted to hospital on Sunday morning and is still be monitored by the awesome people at Ipswich Hospital. We're not exactly sure when he will get back to tip top shape so for the time being, we're holding off our plans for this store until next year. We hope you can understand. Hai would like to thank all those that have sent him well wishes.

21.01.2022 Please be advised that we will be closed for two weeks from Christmas Day Friday 25th December 2020 until Monday 11 January 2021. We have taken an extra week off to allow the endoscopy results to come back so we know what we need to do with my father, Hai. We are hoping for some good news, and Hai will be back greeting you with a smile every morning like he has for the last 13 years. On a daily, we have a practice of washing our hands with soap and using hand sanitisers regularly. If staff are feeling unwell, they have always been asked to stay at home. They usually tell us prior so that our businesses are not contaminated. We understand that you may feel overwhelmed with all the talk about COVID-19 virus and feel you do not want to make regular trips to our store ...while all this is happening. It is understandable. We just want to let you know that we will always adhere to government instructions and the Department of Health. Until they they forcibly close businesses like ours for quarantine etc, we will still be open. After all, our rents, insurance, staff etc will still need to be paid regardless. If you dont want to make regular trips for your lotto purchases, you can always purchase lotto in multi weeks in advance instead of buying online. When you buy online, you are putting another nail in our coffin. If you are looking at buying your magazine or greeting cards, choose us over Woolworths and Coles. Because we all know theyve made their money from the sales of toilet paper! Before you make that purchase, ask yourself, can I get it from my local small business? It is a difficult time for small businesses like ours. Whether we survive the next few months will depend on your support for small businesses. Because once we are gone, were gone and all that will be left, are large corporations (that dont pay near enough tax) left.

06.01.2022 Please note that our supplies of toilet paper, hand sanitisers, and pasta and pasta sauces have been completely exhausted. We are waiting for our next delivery but cannot be sure when they will be delivered. For now, we still have everything else - tin food, flour, sugar, salt, cat and dog food, etc but most importantly, we still got our humor. Relax and smile!

03.01.2022 We have made the decision to close this business from mid-day onwards and only open from 5:30am until 12pm Monday to Saturday until further notice. This decision will take into affect starting Tuesday 24 March 2020. We have made this decision based on the health and exposure of our staff and the declining sales and foot traffic in the afternoons. We also want to take this opportunity to thank all of our health care workers - nurses, doctors, ambos, cleaners, carers et al for a wonderful job you all are doing to help the community while putting yourself and of your family on the frontline against this new enemy - COVID-19.

I know many of you will be saddened by this news, and we know we cannot replace his smiling face, but we will continue to do our best to serve the community and be the place where locals can come together. We will now be looking for part-time staff to fill the void. With the staff we have currently, we are unable to however, go back to the 5pm closing time until we do find the right staff. Until then, we have decided to close at 2pm. We hope you can understand.

Just waiting for the tinting and stickers to come back on. Thank you to all of you that have provided so many beautiful and encouraging comments online and instore. While this event was definitely an inconvenience and expensive, we are not angry. Just hope the guy (and any in the future) doesn't wreck our door again knowing now that there is no money on the premise after hours nor tobacco left out in the open. Wrecking our door hurts the community because all of our premiums will be going up!
