23.01.2022 Piha Beach.... New Zealand WOW!! This was only the second time Simi & I had witnessed a Sunset over the Ocean & boy did we pick a good day to visit the West Coast of NZ. Probably one of the best sunsets I've personally witnessed:)... Piha is a seaside village West of Auckland. A stunning spot with an Iron sand beach & the locally well known "Lion Rock", a volcanic monolith which sits right on the beach. The colours we simply amazing & with the unique rock formations really made for a lovely image. The Beach was littered with local folk who had come down to see the light show, it really was a sight to be seen:) We hope you all enjoy this image & please don't hesitate to share it with your family & friends.. 22.01.2022 Emerald Lakes.... Gold Coast. WOW!! We have seen some amazing Sunrises/Sunsets this week & this afternoons Sunset was set to be another thriller..... I ventured down to my trusty (close to home) spot to try a different composition with good mate and fellow Photographer Rodney Anderson. The Water was very still and made for some glass like reflections. Once again this week the sky lit up with some awesome light/colours & really made for some awesome images. 17.01.2022 Cathedral Cove.. New Zealand.. WOW!! Simi & I just marvelled at the beauty of the Cathedral Cove on our recent trip to North NZ.. The "BEST Beach we've ever been too" got thrown around and with good reason....... This place is something else & is a photographers dream.. Gorgeous golden beeches, HUGE rock formations right on the shore & a Massive walk through cave to boot.. :) The 6km return hike to this magic spot was definitely worth it for us.... It Rained pretty much all day apart from a 3 hour window prior to this shot & we were very thankful for an opportunity to capture this lovely scene in all its glory.. 16.01.2022 Suburban Sunsets ... We have had some gorgeous Sunsets on the Coast of late & I had the pleasure of capturing one of them lately.. Emerald Lakes is a Photographers dream in terms of compositions & this day I had the opportunity to shoot a different scene overlooking this magical spot.... Sometimes to get the simple shot i'm after I just go with an emphasis on composition, a nice scene, nice foreground & nice backdrop. If you can get these elements all right, you can't go wrong.. 10.01.2022 Gold Coast Seaway "The Spit"... (South Wall) A couple of nights ago I made my way down to 'the spit' with my lovely Wife & good mate Rodney to capture some more Astro Photography. Another clear night and no moon about made for some ideal conditions for star trails.... I hadn't tried shooting Trails anywhere near a City until a few weeks ago, but now i'm hooked because each image has come up a treat given all the ambient light around. The South Wall light beacon was a nice choice of subject with the lights of Surfers in the background. The settings I used in this series of shots were not typical for Astro & took a bit of adjustment to get right. We all had a ball with & a couple of drinkies & many laughs.. 02.01.2022 Evandale Park, Gold Coast...... WOW!! Yesterdays Sunset was pretty epic, the pinks in the sky were simply delicious..... A late decision to go out for sunset saw me at a local spot which is always good for a reverse sunset. Evandale Park looking over the Surfers skyline is an iconic local scene & you really can't go wrong with any photo from this location. The clouds were moving pretty quickly from West to East & I decided on a long exposure shot to capture the movement..
