22.01.2022 Update from BMXNSW on the transition to Auscycling on 1 October 2020 You may have seen the recent updates from BMXA on the transition to Auscycling and with 1... October fast approaching, it seems timely that we update you on the activities we have been doing behind the scenes to position NSW to succeed under Auscycling. Focus Our focus is to: Work with AusCycling to implement the transition of BMX into AusCycling as per the vote from NSW members Facilitate a smooth transition with minimum disruption to our members Ensure as best we can that AusCycling retains the good things about BMX NSW events, while understanding that we become one unit with all the other states Set up NSW racing for success in the new world Knowledge transfer We have been engaging regularly with BMXA to share the coalface knowledge of how BMX racing events are conducted in NSW so this can feed into the Auscycling model. We have also shared our understanding of what we believe is important to our members, such as defining what the NSW racing calendar looks like for 2021. We know that NSW clubs have also had opportunities to share their views from a club perspective with BMXA and we encourage you to continue doing this. This information will be utilised by Auscycling to ensure member services and local needs are met. Investing in NSW future We recently applied for, and were awarded, a grant for $115,000 which we will use to provide NSW with a solid footing into the future under Auscycling. More details on this later but we will be looking to invest in equipment that will support our members (riders and volunteers) and will align with our focus as outlined above. Familiar faces The Auscycling model relies on the valued volunteer base that we have developed over many years under BMXNSW. The people that played a role in delivering racing events prior to 1 October 2020 will still be on the ground, delivering racing events post 1 October 2020. This is a good thing as it allows Auscycling to maintain the strong networks and BMX specific knowledge that already exists within NSW. It also means we (the collective of NSW members) can continue to provide input to Auscycling on the programming and direction of the sport into the future, from a NSW perspective. Awesome, right? Please check out the sign on process video, then proceed to the sign on form and follow the prompts to sign on and pay.... Please be sure to read all the information about cut off times for sign on and arrival at the track as well as the process to follow once you arrive. In order for this to run smoothly, everyone needs to be familiar with the process. The key points to be aware of are: Online sign on closes at 1pm on the day of racing Rider must present to the track by 2.30pm to ensure they are included in the draw. Failure to do so means the rider is unable to race. If the rider is definitely attending but cant make it by 2.30pm, please organise for someone at the track to notify the scoring team. All riders must be temp checked and given a wrist band. This is a requirement of our St John’s First Aid team. REGISTRATION / SIGN ON All online entries have been added to Sqorz. Please check your details are correct and report any problems. All riders MUST register at the regi-station prior to warm up / practice and no later than 5.30pm. Anyone not registered by this time will not make the draw. 8 years and up, please register using your transponder. Sprocket parents and transponder-less peeps, please scan your licence under the scanner at the score room. Anyone with a recently renewed licence, a new AusCycling licence or anyone having issues at the regi-station, please come and see us in the score room Volunteers The volunteer roster will be posted in the Mac Pirates group. Please check which job you’ve been allocated to and please be at the track no later than 5pm so you can be briefed before racing commences.

19.01.2022 Tonight we celebrated the end of our racing year with an event that was full of fun. With scoring turned off, our riders could challenge their mates while playing some silly games within each race. Be sure to check out the socials for pictures and videos of what we got up to. We saw motos in reverse direction, pros pretending to be mini wheelers and a Lemans race where riders had to run to their bike and get dressed in their safety gear before they could start. There was ple...nty to laugh about when the pros had to find their shoes. A huge shout out to all of our amazing volunteers that helped to get tonight running smoothly. Your assistance is always appreciated. The lucky winner of our volunteer membership recruitment incentive, was this year Glenn Hall. Glenn is pictured receiving his Camden Hotel voucher. Congratulations also goes out to Corey Wickham for winning the meat tray raffle proudly donated by Mount Annan Quality Meats and Deli We won’t race again until the new year, but we would like to wish you all a safe and happy holiday period. Track sign on opens at 4.30pm and closes at 5.30pm sharp. Racing at 6pm. : All riders using transponders will be entered into Sqorz however, to be registered for racing, riders run their transponder past the checking station. 02.01.2022 Lets go again!!! We are back racing this weekend. SIGN-ON IS OPEN NOW!! Again,a few house keeping issues that we need to go over so that our day can run smoothly. CURRENTLY OUR CLUBBYS ARE FOR MAC MEMBERS ONLY. 1. Please try to sign on via the online link. Payment will need to be cashless at the sign on table https://forms.gle/Pyp6e7b3wPP1TZ1f8 2. We need to restrict numbers so please only bring necessary people to the track 3. ALL adults attending MUST sign in at the chec...king station when they arrive at the track, scan the code and register your attendance 4. ALL attendees will have their temp checks. This is a requirement from St Johns who will be looking after all our riders 5. Complete sign on process once all checks are completed 6. Please remember social distancing and hygiene rules. Sanitiser will be available around the venue 7. Staging will happen in two stages. Ages will be called in groups so please listen for your riders age group to be called.
