15.01.2022 Gday everyone Its great to see you all supporting this save the boating on the Murray River campaign , we have come along way in just over a week . A lot of p...eople are working very hard behind the scenes ,gathering information ,researching,studying scientific evidence ,and mainly giving up their personal time to get the facts and correct information out for the boating and recreational community As you may be aware the powers that be are proposing the ban based on erosion ,which is laughable if you study all the scientific evidence I feel we need to transfer the focus to boating safety and respecting each other out on the water ,we have a contact in south Australia Adam Bruce who went through a similar situation three years ago the powers that be tried to ban boating on the Murray in SA ,a few guys formed a group called RMBRAG River Murray boating & recreation advisory group Jump on their website if you want more info www.rmbrag.com They took a pro active approach and created 9 educational videos on etiquette , respecting others on the river ,etc and also placed code of conduct signs at all boat ramps , I believe as do others on our newly formed committee ,that we need to get this message out there and be seen to be doing the right thing out on the water, The Murray is a spectacular part of Australia that we should all have the right to enjoy and discover no matter what your passion ,fishing , waterskiing, wakeboarding ,barefooting, or a bbq boat with all your friends , we all need to stick together and get this ban stopped as Ive said before this is just the beginning they start with the wakeboats and as history shows eventually ban all boating activities Not only will this possibly ruin over 1000 jobs just in Bundalong ,Yarrawonga and mulwala area alone let alone the ripple effect down the line with all the shop owners and businesss who rely on the tourists throughout the year to survive they are also taking away our basic right to enjoy outdoor activities they have already stopped people from camping along the Murray Our aim is to hold a march Accross the Yarrawonga / mulwala traffic bridge to make a stand and show publicly how many people support stopping the ban on the boats (this action was taken back a few years ago when the powers that be wanted to fence the whole Victorian side of the Murray River so no one could access it .the locals got over 7000 people to walk the bridge ,the very next day the proposal was dropped ) So please if you could find the time to come and walk the bridge to show your support to save boating on the Murray River keep your eyes on this site for more information the date is yet to be confirmed but I would really love to hear from you all to get some feedback on a date that everyone can be here , we were thinking in between Boxing Day and New Years Day Please message me with your thoughts Keep up the great work supporting our boating Culture My mobile number is 0425-787-886 if anyone wants to contact me please share this to everyone to get it out there Cheers See more
