25.01.2022 Happy Mothers Day and happy Skincare Sunday . In this video Im sharing some of my favourite skincare products for clean and moisturised skin. Most of those products I use everyday. Things to note: my skin type combination oily... acne prone due to hormonal issues eczema around eyes area Products breakdown: Cleanser : @clinique_oz Take The Day Off cleansing Balm ( contains safflower to melt down impurities and hydrate the skin. Safflower is also said to be anti-inflammatory) 2nd cleanser: @larocheposayaunz Effaclar micro-peeling clarifying Gel Cleanser ( contains salicylic acid to go deep in the pores and removes excess oil, dirt and makeup) Treatment: @larocheposayaunz Hyaluronic b5 srum ( hyaluronic acid is a substance that can hold 1000 times its own weight in water. This means that it is great at hydrating and plumbing the skin) moisturiser : @larocheposayaunz effaclar duo + (contains a bunch of amazing ingredients to unclog pores and reduce the appearance of acne) NB: This is what works for MY skin. 23.01.2022 Happy Mindful Monday friends Today, Id like you to pay attention to what you let in What do I mean? Well we all know the saying: Eyes are windows to the soul - Shakespeare. Id like to switch our perspective on that. Rather than thinking about let me look at you in the eyes so as I know whether you are a good person or not, Id like you to take a moment and think about it from the soul perspective: Im inside, looking out through those windows. What do I see? What ki...nd of pictures, sceneries, moments, am I letting in through those windows. Matthew 6: 22-23 says : The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. So today, rather than taking in bad news from the internet, look for something that inspires you. Rather than getting involved in online drama, choose to leave a comment to encourage somebody else. Rather than comparing yourself, your situation, and pondering on the things that you dont have, choose to count your blessings. Fill your mind with thoughts about good things. 22.01.2022 I read this article from Emily McPherson at @channel9 where she interviewed @bexmxpx and I COULD NOT believe my eyes. Here are some of the things that really made me sick in my stomach: I quote:... @woolworths_au "Across the entire supermarket we select products based on the volume of demand, but we understand a different approach is needed to offer a more inclusive range in cosmetics," the spokesperson said in a statement to nine.com.au. @colessupermarkets "We work with our suppliers to provide a range of cosmetics that is inclusive and meets the needs of our customers. Today I tried filming a graphic liner look and it was a disaster... to start with I bought the wrong product and 2nd I dont actually have the proper skill to do what I set out to do. Even though I am a pro Mua, there are certain styles and techniques that I just dont do. IM I SAYING THAT ILL NEVER BE GOOD AT IT? No!!! I know that with practice and hardwork I could be great. DO I WANT TO BE THE BEST GRAPHIC LINER ARTIS...T ? Not really.. why not? Because thats not my style of artistry and it does not interest me whatsoever to do super creative graphic liners. So heres three lessons I take out of today: In the process of learning FAILURE is inevitable. Unless you try it, you cant say whether you like it or not. YOU DONT HAVE TO BE GOOD AT EVERYTHING. 06.01.2022 Hi Fam! Welcome to Skincare Sunday For the next few weeks well talk about some essential ingredients that are great to include in your skincare routine. Having a good skincare routine will ensure that your skin is being given the BEST chance to thrive. Today is all about Vitamin A (mostly known as retinol). . Skin Benefits of retinol: ... 1. Slows down ageing by increasing the production of collagen. 2. Fades dark spots, sun spots and hyperpigmentation 3. Helps treat acne by regulating oily skin. 4. Brightens Dull Skin by exfoliating at a cellular level. . I personally prefer to use a serum version of retinol as serums are more potent and penetrates deeper in the skin. Advise to first time user: Start by mixing the serum with your moisturiser. Limit use to only once - twice per week for the first couple of weeks. Then increase usage gradually. . 04.01.2022 True story: I was at an outdoor Latin festival with my friends and family when out of the hundreds of people there, my eyes fell on this STUNNING woman. She was tall, skin glowing in the late autumn golden hour, her fro was out and proud...and I was..gobsmacked and nearly choked on my delicious paella . I told my husband look at this girl! Shes perfect! I wish I could be friends with her and do her makeup, to which my husband replied go talk to her ARE YOU CRAZY? Was m...y response..shes gonna think Im weird (which I am). 03.01.2022 To some of you, makeup, haircare and skincare might be just some superficial things. But for me and many MANY others, it is our work. It is a form of expression and a way of showing self-care and self-love. However, the reality is, Australia’s beauty industry is not an even playing field. That’s why this conversation and the Global Shades movement with @adorebeauty is a cause very close to my heart. The current state of Australia’s beauty industry is setting up non-white p...eople for failure and here is how: As BIPOC Makeup Artists and Hairstylists, the limited access slows down our business because we cannot get the products we need to create the looks we want. It makes it harder to service the people in our community since we have to buy those products overseas and/or pay a premium price if they are available in Australia. As BIPOC content creators, it puts a significant roadblock on our growth. Since the beauty world is very fast-paced, the lack of access to the products we need makes it 10X harder to create trending content. Our light-skinned counterparts can simply walk into a store and get the popular products. They can create their content and get paid for their work without having to wait weeks for the items to be delivered from overseas. And as BIPOC that simply want to look put-together, the lack of suitable beauty products for our dark skin tones and hair types is a waste of our TIME and MONEY. It’s a constant game of trial and error when attempting to buy the correct makeup shade online. Then there’s the waitbecause not only are these products not stocked in the physical stores, but they are often unavailable on Australian websites. So here are your options: You can either sit around, do nothing but complain that the Australian beauty space is not inclusive. OR You can take 30 seconds to click the link in my bio and sign the Global Shades petition to be part of a movement that is striving to change the Australian Beauty industry as we know it. Ever since Grce started brushing her teeth, Ive been on the look out for a Natural toothpaste that does not contain Fluoride or the other rubbish that usually is in normal toothpaste. And while I didnt mind the weird taste that those natural toothpastes had, Seb (hubby)and Grce have been super fussy about it...to the poi...nt that Grce would not want to brush her teeth So when @gem_kind sent me their toothpaste, I knew that to pass the test, they would have to convince Grce! And guess what! She loved it My opinion: 1. To be 100% honest, it tasted super nice and I didnt feel like I was using something natural or vegan. 2.
