17.01.2022 ~RALLY ~SUNDAY 14TH 3PM ~ Pipes to Alex Surf Club~ 2 Arms distance (or 2 metres apart) line the beach to say: NO to removing our car parks... NO to taking away green space NO to a beach barrier NO to developing the beachfront at the expense of numerous user groups and without genuine consultation with those user groups. *** YOUR SUPPORT, SIGN THE PETITION! *** Residents, Surfers, SUPS, Walkers, Runners, PT's, Businesses, Retirees, Families, Scooter/skaters, Cyclists, Beachgoers, Exercise groups, and ALL users of the stretch beach from Pipes to Alex Surf Club will rally at 3pm for a 3.15pm drone pic. Make 1 line along the beach (or 2 rows if we fill one line) to SPEAK UP and let the State Government AND council know we do NOT want to see this plan go any further. It is NOT catering to the vast user groups and has serious safety concerns. TO BE PART OF THIS RALLY, you MUST... Keep 2 metres apart Listen to and be directed by Rally Marshalls Be standing on the beach in line by 3pm Exit the beach line up at 3.30pm Remember gathering or grouping rules are in affect All eyes will be on us and police in attendance so please ensure you are doing the right thing we don't want you risking a fine. * Please share and check yourself into the event on our main page.

16.01.2022 This is how we all feel right now with whats going on in the world! Against the elements!!! Last week we posted we are open but unfortunately thats not the case. As of 8:15PM Friday the 15th of May the Queensland Government has imposed restrictions for our sport of surfing. This includes Surf Schools and Boardriders clubs. Learn to surf lessons and or coaching. NO ORGANISED LESSONS, AND OR COACHING SESSIONS ARE PERMITTED IN QUEENSLAND UNTIL STAGE 2 OF THE ROADMAP COMMENCES.... This includes one on one lessons. We are hopeful that all in our industry are doing the right thing!! If you see otherwise, let them know that you know!!! We will be back surf coaching from 12th June.

The Transport & Main Roads M2M Cycleway proposes removal of beachfront carparks, a separated dedicated cycleway posing safety pinch points. The Sunshine Coast Daily is taking a photo of beach goers at Geriatrics which is 100m south of Okinja Road at 4pm. If youre keen to show your support to keep our beautiful beachfront please head along.

10.01.2022 A HUGE congratulations goes to Northshore Boardriders. They just took out the most prestigious club surfing event in the country. It was great to be down there with the team cheering them all the way to first place. It is an absolute pleasure to be a sponsor of this great club. It is also very pleasing to be able to boast that Sophie, Jack and Alister are all products of our junior programs. These amazing surfers have all come through the ranks of our Intermediate, Squad and school based programs. Not only are they great surfers but great humans too. Lets not forget Taj and Bevo!!!! 10.01.2022 To all the MSS family and friends, The last 2 weeks have been unprecedented in our times. Over this period, Ive been listening to government guidelines, and have been trying to work out where we, at MSS, stand in all of this. Theres been no clear instructions for us to cease business. You only have to watch the news, and listen to our state and countrys leaders, to understand how significant this situation is. With that in mind, Rachel and I have decided its time to do ...our part. Health is a major part of the surfing industry; they work hand in hand. Thats why, as of this evening, Maroochy Surf School will be going on hold. In the end its a simple decision. We all need to do our part for each others family and friends. For all programs currently running, make up lessons will be available when we resume. If you have booked Easter Groms programs or private lessons you will receive an email from Rach.
