MASA is proud to announce that we will be holding a sparing day on Saturday 26th September at UTC Gym, 52 Harris Street St Marys NSW 2760 We understand that in these trying times we all have missed the feeling we get whilst competing in Combat Sports, that is why we at MASA are going to hold this event and cover all the costs involved so as to provide the Combat Sports fa...mily with the chance to enjoy doing what we love, competing and continuing to learn and grow as a sporting community. MASA will provide a COVID SAFE venue that will meet all COVID Guidelines to provide a safe environment for all involved and we will also provide officials at zero cost to participants also due to the COVID Safe restrictions. 07.01.2022 Granting of combat sport contest permits suspended until further notice On 11 March 2020 the World Health Organisation declared Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) a pandemic. On 15 March 2020, NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard made an Order under the Public Health Act 2010 that prohibits the holding of a public event (including combat sport contests) at which there are, or are likely to be, 500 persons or more in attendance at any one time.... In addition, the National Cabinet has accepted the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) advice that non-essential indoor gatherings of greater than 100 people (including staff) will no longer be permitted from Wednesday 18 March 2020. As a consequence of the Order, and consideration of advice received from NSW Health relating to self-isolation and social distancing, the Combat Sports Authority (the Authority) has determined that it will not grant permits to hold combat sport contests until further notice. Additionally, combat sport contest permits that have already been issued will be revoked. The Authority will contact all affected promoters to discuss the situation. The Combat Sports Authority has not made this determination lightly. However, the Authoritys highest priority is the health and safety of combatants and those that participate in and attend combat sport contests. The Government response to the COVID-19 pandemic is evolving on a daily basis. The Authority will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates to the industry via email and the Authority website. This determination will be reviewed by the Authority on Monday 18 May 2020.
