19.01.2022 World Continence Week 2020. Keep an eye out as we will be posting some interesting information this week.

19.01.2022 We are excited to welcome physiotherapist Jim Fuller to our team. Jim is an experienced musculoskeletal physiotherapist. He has previously worked in Sydney, Canberra and Canada. He has a strong focus in Women’s Health. Furthermore, lower back pain clients and an active population is what really motivates Jim. After spending 12 months in Canada Jim has turned his attention to preventative exercises to assist with safe movement while carrying an injury. He has extensive qualifications in Pilates; matwork reformer and equipment. Dry needling is a feature of his work. Jim is available Wednesday afternoon, Friday morning and select Saturdays from April 21st.

18.01.2022 Maureen completed her Masters in Clinical Physiotherapy (Continence and Women’s Health) through Curtin University in 2017. Maureen has a special interest in women’s and men’s health including continence management, prolapse, pelvic pain and pre and post prostate surgery and ante and post-natal musculoskeletal dysfunctions. Maureen also has extensive experience in general musculoskeletal dysfunction, orthopaedic rehabilitation, sports, and occupational health. Maureen has been an Australian Physiotherapy Association member since graduation and served on the ACT Branch Council for a total of nine years. She has also been a member of the Registration Board. Maureen is currently also a member of the Continence Foundation of Australia.

18.01.2022 Esther’s interest in Women’s health was sparked during a university clinical placement over 17 years ago. After having her own children, undertaking learning at professional courses and working alongside Maureen, Esther saw just how complex, interesting and important pelvic health is. It affects many aspects of our daily lives and problems in this area can range from mildly bothersome to completely intolerable. She is currently completing further post graduate training through Curtin University in Continence and Woman’s Health and hopes to empower and assist people for many years to come.

16.01.2022 As you are all aware COVID-19 has presented us with a new challenge with rigorous hygiene, social distancing and stay at home unless essential to be out as the main messages. Whilst numbers are currently increasing more slowly indicating these measures are helping there will be increased testing to ascertain community transmission. There are many changes we have undertaken as health professionals in the practice in order to minimise risk of exposure through rigorous personal ...and practice hygiene and patient screening to keep you and our staff safe. You are welcome to attend the practice for treatment if you feel this is essential subject to this screening. If you are in self isolation or would prefer to minimise contact in anyway we now offer a one to one consultation with us via Telehealth. Telehealth uses digital technology on either your computer or phone with or without a video component. It is safe and effective and has been around in rural and remote settings for a long time. Our physios are now trained in delivering Telehealth. We do have some physios who for the short term have taken time off from the practice but If you would like to talk to us about commencing or continuing your treatment through Telehealth please call us at the practice on 6295 7563. We can explain the procedures, technology requirements and fees before you have your treatment. As always, kind regards Maureen and staff
