25.01.2022 TRUE SELF This morning I read this in Melbournes Herald Sun newspaper. Leading owner Terry Henderson said he has stayers and sprinters in the UK, including Geelong Cup runner-up True Self, which he fully intends to have here for the spring.... Henderson said it was unlikely True Selfs trainer, Willie Mullins, would come but he was happy to place his horses with others when they arrive. You may remember TRUE SELF missed out in getting into the Melbourne Cup field in 2019. She just missed out when an unlucky 2nd to Prince of Aaran (who ran 2nd in the 2019 Melbourne Cup) in the Geelong Cup and then went on to win a 2600 metre race at Flemington on the 9th of November in 2019. TRUE SELF is currently $51 a win and $13.50 a place in the TAB Futures market. She is $34 with other on line bookies. Maybe worth a cup of coffee bet. Watch Geelong Cup again. It was a great race.

23.01.2022 TWILIGHT PAYMENT At The Curragh overnight, in the Irish St Leger, Twilight Payment ran 3rd. Which would mean he cant receive a weight penalty in the 2020 Melbourne Cup. Now it is up to owner Lloyd Williams as to whether TP will come to OZ for the Cup. Ummmm. Watch this space.

22.01.2022 The Chosen One The Chosen One impressively beat Django Freeman and Aristia today at Flemington over 1700 metres. Impressive because he was returning after a spell Impressive because he was the top weight carrying 61.5kgs. ... Impressive because he won on a Good 4 track and I recalled him running 2nd in the Sydney Cup over 3200 metres on a heavy track. So when I looked at the Futures markets, late today, I was surprised to see his Melbourne Cup price was $51 with TAB. Ummmmm.

20.01.2022 Happy Melbourne Cup day! For those who I’ve spoken to this morning who are after the link for the eBook to view Max’s selections, please see the link below. https://pickthecupwinner.myshopify.com/... #howtopickthewinner #melbournecup #melbournecupmax

20.01.2022 PRINCE OF ARRAN trying for 3rd time lucky in the Cup!

18.01.2022 HARPO MARX I note Harpo Marx is running today (29/4/20) at Warwick Farm at 3.10pm EST. You may remember I wrote about him last Wednesday when he ran a very impressive 3rd over 1800 metres at Canterbury. This was on a track that didnt suit and a distance that didnt suit. Not so today. Hell be at Warwick Farm over 2400 metres. I realise there is a huge difference between mid-week form and Melbourne Cup form. However, Im all about endeavouring to identify horses that... might get into the Melbourne Cup field. Then, I may consider having a cup of coffee bet (a few dollars each way) on them in the Melbourne Cup Futures market. Ill be watching Harpo Marx again today to assess whether he might be good enough to get into the Melbourne Cup field. But l, I was particularly interesting to see Harpo Marx is currently $151 a win and $41 a place in the Melbourne Cup SportsBet Futures market. I wonder if this will be the same price tomorrow if Harpo Marx wins well today? Ummmm.

17.01.2022 ABLAZE A hurdler targeting the Cup. Vintage Crop was a hurdler. (1993 Cup winner) Trained by Irishman Dermott Weld. Ummmmm.

17.01.2022 ABLAZE Today (28/6/20)at 12.45pm (EST) at Rosehill, Ablaze is running in the 3200 metres Stayers Cup. He is a hurdler who has won over 5500 metres. In his last 9 starts he has won 7 times, ran one 4th and one second. He is the favourite for todays race. ... The connections have dreams about Ablaze being a possible Melbourne Cup horse. (Well, theres certainly no doubt about him running 3200 metres!). I seriously doubt if he is good enough to get in the Melbourne Cup field in a normal year....but 2020 is anything but a normal year. So, Im going to be watching the race closely...and the SportsBet Futures market. At this moment, Ablazes price is $151 a win and $41 a place in the Futures market. Ummmmmm.

17.01.2022 Welcome...or welcome back. MelbourneCupMax here with everything you need to know about the 2020 Melbourne Cup. (It will probably be recorded in history as The Covid Cup.) And, hopefully, we will replace the race that stops a nation slogan, to the race that starts a nation. Again, here on social media, we will be posting regular short videos about Melbourne Cup horses. My Melbourne Cup system has worked for 26 out of the last 32 years. You can download this system fo...r FREE at www.PickTheCupWinner.com.au As you well know Covid 19 has given all of us a wacky ride during 2020. So, we invite you to strap in for a better ride, while we will attempt to Pick The Cup Winner again.

15.01.2022 CROSS COUNTER. A very ordinary 3rd in this Coral Henry Stakes overnight makes me think Cross Counter is a light of other days. After that performance I seriously doubt they will bring Cross Counter to Australia this year for the 2020 Melbourne Cup.

13.01.2022 13/9/20 TWILIGHT PAYMENT Twilight Payment runs in the Irish St Leger overnight at 1.40am at the Curragh. (Ill be watching). He is already well and truly in the Melbourne Cup field with 55.5 kgs. (Hes carrying 62kgs tonight). ... He won this same Curragh race in 2019, beating Master of Reality by 8 lengths. He also won it in 2018. Hes currently $51 in the TAB Melbourne Cup Futures market. If he happens to win tonight, I would expect this price will drop. However....Twilight Payment is an 8yr old....and the last 8 yr old to win the Melbourne Cup was Catalogue in 1938. But 2020 has been a wacky year. Who knows? Ummmm. BTW. After The Chosen One was victorious on Saturday I wrote, on this site, that I was surprised to see he was still $51 in the Futures Markets. I note he is now $34 with TAB.

12.01.2022 DJANGO FREEMAN I was impressed with DJANGO FREEMAN on Saturday when he ran 3rd to Reykjavik at Flemington over 1600 metres. So much so, I immediately checked his price in the Melbourne Cup Futures Markets. I noted he was $26.00 with TAB and SportsBet. And he was $34 wit Bet365. Ummmmm. Worthwhile watching.

12.01.2022 International update:

12.01.2022 One sleep away from the 2020 Melbourne Cup. Did you Know Stratum Albion is in the 2020 Melbourne Cup? This was was an impressive run that we think convinced the owner to run him in the Melbourne Cup. https://www.racingtv.com//stratum-delivers-another-cesarew ... Remember, for access to my top 6 selections you’ll need to purchase a copy of my 2020 Pick the Cup Winner eBook which you can do via the link below. I wish you good luck in the 2020 Melbourne Cup. But, they say that luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity. Hence, I invite you to check out the short videos I have assembled about 2020 Melbourne Cup horses at: https://www.pickthecupwinner.com.au/need-to-know #melbournecup #melbournecupMax #racing #horseracing #jockey

11.01.2022 CROSS COUNTER Cross Counter is to run in the UK overnight at Sandown Park in the Coral Henry Stakes overnight. He is in a 3250 metre race in a very small field of 5 horses. Most of the Futures Bookmakers have him at $26 in the 2020 Melbourne Cup. ... But Ive just noticed he is $51 with SportsBet. It will be interesting to see what happens to this price if he wins tonight. Ummmmmm

10.01.2022 Congratulations if you got on True Self at $51.00 today. Ive just checked TAB and the price has now dropped to $26.00. If she makes it through to November 3rd you will be able to lay-off the bet and have her running in the Cup for you for nothing. Well done.

10.01.2022 2020 Melbourne Cup - still an $8,000,000 race.

09.01.2022 ANDREW RAMSDEN STAKES Today, (16/5/20) at Flemington, the Andrew Ramsden Stakes will be run over 2800 metres at 2.50 EST. The winner of this race gets automatic entry into the 2020 Melbourne Cup. And will probably be allocated a weight around 52.5kgs in the Cup. King of Leogrance is the favourite at $2.50. He produced a brilliant performance to win the Adelaide Cup on the 9th of March. I mentioned, at that time, he was $34 in the Melbourne Cup Futures Market. His price has... now been reduced to $18.00 in this Futures fmarket. You may remember the Adelaide Cup winner last year - Surprise Baby - went on to run 5th in the 2019 Melbourne Cup. But the horse I will be closely watching is the Western Australian horse Too Close The Sun. He has won 4 out of his last 5 races. He is the $4.50 second favourite in the Andrew Ramsden Stakes, even though he has never raced over 2800 metres. But, in the Melbourne Cup Futures Market he is currently $51. Now I dont think this is a great price. He still has a long way to go to be considered a Melbourne Cup chance. But it will be interesting to watch this price if he wins or at least runs a good race. Certainly a race worth watching!

09.01.2022 RUSSIAN CAMELOT A new Melbourne Cup favourite $11. If you missed seeing this race on Saturday I recommend you take the time to watch it now. An absolutely amazing performance by the very cleverly named Russian Camelot. He was last and three wide for most of the 2400 metres of the South Australian Derby at Morphettville.

07.01.2022 Schabau ran an incredible Cup trial when he ran 3rd to Al Galayel at Caulfield today. (29/8/20)

07.01.2022 COLLIDE Noted this article in the Newcastle Herald Herald today telling: https://www.newcastleherald.com.au//racing-australian-blo/... Collide, a five-year-old Frankel entire, already meets requirements thanks to a listed victory in France over a mile and a half in February. Australian Bloodstock director Luke Murrell said Collide, a winner of six races in 15 starts, would follow the same path as their 2014 Melbourne Cup winner Protectionist. He won the group 2 Prix Kergorlay (3000m) in France before coming to Australia. "Hes a really nice horse and hes going to be qualified," Murrell said. "Hell run in the Kergorlay [on August 23] then come here for the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups. I was surprised when I checked the Futures Markets and found he was $67 with Bet 365 and $151 with SportsBet. Ummmmm Seems like a cup of coffee bet to me as Collide is already qualified, rock-hard fit and can run 2 miles. And, providing he makes it to Cup day, Im sure he will start a lot less than $151. Hence, the ability to have him running for NO OUTLAY. Ummmm. I like that!

06.01.2022 Cross Counter Prince of Aaran The famous 4000 metre Ascot Gold Cup was run on Friday in the UK. It was won by the worlds best stayer - Stradivarius. It was a sensational performance and well worth watching. It brings a bit of perspective in that two Melbourne Cup stars were in the race. Cross Counter, who won the Melbourne Cup in 2018 ran a distant 3rd (about 50 metres behind Stradivarius). Prince of Aaran, who ran 2nd in the 2019 Melbourne Cup finished about 80 metres behind Stradivarius. Ummmm.

04.01.2022 Lloyd Williams horses 1st & 2nd at Curragh Cup Overnight (18/7/20) Twilight Payment and Master of Reality ran 1st and 2nd in the Curragh Cup over 2800 metres. I really dont know if they are likely to run in the 2020 Melbourne Cup. (Because of Covid 19 restrictions). But I note they are both listed in 365 Bet Futures Market....and I do know Lloyd Williams loves winning the Melbourne Cup!

04.01.2022 Melbourne Cup horses running in the UK at Ebor Carnival on Friday/Saturday. The picture for the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups may become a little clearer following Fridays G2 Lonsdale Cup (3270m) and Saturdays 250,000 (A$450,000) Ebor Handicap (2787m). Expected Cups entries Dashing Willoughby, Get Shirty, Grandmaster Flash, Withhold and True Self are all listed for the former while the latter includes Get Shirty, Grandmaster Flash and True Self, plus other Cups candidates... Deja, Pondus, Almania and Le Don De Vie. Of those horses, Dashing Willoughby, True Self, Almania and Le Don De Vie can be considered virtually certain Australian travelers due to all or part of those horses being owned by Australasian interests, while Pondus could join them should owner Lloyd Williams elect to bring runners to Melbourne.

03.01.2022 ASHRUN and The LEXUS STAKES. Since 1970, the following Melbourne Cup winners ran in the Lexus Stakes (Hotham Handicap) as part of their lead-up to the Melbourne Cup, below is how they performed in the Lexus Stakes three days before their Melbourne Cup win: ... 2009: Shocking - 1st; 2000: Brew - 1st; 1990: Kingston Rule - 2nd; 1984: Black Knight - 3rd; 1981: Just A Dash - 5th; 1980: Beldale Ball - 2nd; 1974: Think Big - 1st. 01.01.2022 Whatll win the Cup? (The Melbourne Cup...of course!) https://youtu.be/7UU7dE1Hiq8 See below and remember you can download Maxs System for FREE via www.pickthecupwinner.com.au

01.01.2022 NANCHO news At the beginning of March, on this site, I wrote about an Hungarian horse - NANCHO - who had won 11 out of 18 races in Europe and placed in three other races. NANCHO transferred to Anthony Cummings stables in April. At that time he was $101 in the Melbourne Cup Futures markets. I suggested a cup of coffee wager. Soon after Nancho dropped to $51 in the Futures Markets. ... Overnight, when I saw Manuela De Vega nominated in a 2340 metre race at Haydock in the UK, I decided to stay awake to watch the race. Whats the connection? you ask. Well, Manuela De Vegas last run was when she ran 2nd to NANCHO on 3rd of November 2019 over 2400 metres in Munich, Germany. This time MDV was competing against the heavily backed favourite Fanny Logan. Manuela De Vego won impressively last night after leading for the entire race. At one stage she was 7 lengths in front. She sure made NANCHO look interesting. So I checked the Futures markets and noted NANCHO is still $51 a win and $13.50 a place with TAB. However, NANCHO is $67 with Bet 365. Ummmmmmm.
