24.01.2022 Prayer project ... prayer number 16! please join Kathleen and Will in their Prayer for Ecological Reimagining and Climate Justice Creator God, in this time of isolation and anxiety, we pray for a collective ecological reimagining and the generation of political and community energy for climate justice. ... While we give thanks for our own relative safety and the privilege of quiet reflection, we ask for your comfort and care for those suffering. As the global pandemic exposes and exacerbates existing inequalities, hierarchies and vulnerabilities, we pray that this would be a time for recalibration and reimagining. Acknowledging that we are made to be in relation with you God, we also acknowledge our relationality with your earthly creation and our responsibility for its care. We pray that this time of reflection will encourage us anew, to cultivate a community of collective care, both for one another and for our nonhuman kin. We understand the earth as a material manifestation of your love. We pray for galvanising leadership and community energy for climate justice, as an expression of our relationship with and care for your earthly creation. We pray all this in Jesus name Amen See more

20.01.2022 Prayer Project: please join in with Lauren's prayer for our youth group (thanks Lauren) Father God, Thank you for the Inner North Youth Group. We pray for the youth, all who are loved by you and all who are wonderfully unique. Whilst they are different in their churches, in their schools, in their age, in their faith, in their struggles and in their joy, we thank you for that you have brought them together as one body. We pray that you will be continuing to grow them in your ...image. Please be with all the youth; for those who we see every week and those we have not seen for a while. Please be giving them your comfort and be drawing them closer to you as they continue through remote learning and miss their friends. Please be giving the year 12’s your peace as they approach exams and make decisions about their future. Thank you for the excitement of the year 6’s as they prepare for high school. Thank you for Tom and the leaders, be with them as they role model and share your word. We pray to be reunited when it is safe to do so, but we thank you for the creativity, fun and community we have found during lockdown. AMEN See more

19.01.2022 As school holidays begin this afternoon please continue to pray for VCE students as they study remotely, finishing their years of schooling in such strange circumstances. Thanks for this prayer Jeanne: Dear God, Thank you for the energy and enthusiasm of the VCE students in our church. We pray for concentration and comprehension as they prepare for upcoming exams. May internet connection be reliable for both study and down time. Thank you for the parents, sibli...ngs, chosen family and pets (!) who give emotional and nutritious sustenance. We ask for good humour and patience for all when days seem especially stressful. We also remember that not all homes are safe places and ask for peace and security for those students as they navigate life in lockdown. Help students to still find moments of fun and hopeful anticipation about the future although celebrations with friends may look different to their expectations. Please grow the confidence of students in the abilities and knowledge they’ve developed over the year. You created and love us. Help us to trust that our significance doesn’t rest upon a number but is found in you. We pray that knowledge of your plan for each student brings comfort as they prepare for the next stage of their lives. Amen

19.01.2022 Well done to Mandy Loftus, Hannah Friend and Erin Turnbull for already contributing to our @Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) food drive. As Mandy said, the website has recommendations for what foods are needed so you don't even need to think. https://www.asrc.org.au/get-involved/donate-food-and-goods/

17.01.2022 Like many, our musicians have been learning some new skills in lockdown. One such person is Ann Blackburn, who, not only taught herself how to film and edit vid...eos but is here to teach you all about the very nerdy world of oboe reed making. 09.01.2022 Well done to Jeanne, Robyn and Benjamin for giving to the ASRC food drive. Keep going Merri Creek!

09.01.2022 This week we begin a new three part sermon series on the book of Esther. If you have never read it, I encourage you to give it a go. Perhaps you could watch the Bible project introduction video to help you along (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JydNSlufRIs). Don't get put off by the exotic Persian names, or that God isn't even mentioned once. This is a story of high drama and is full of colour and controversy, and God is there for those who know how to find him. Esther would make an ideal Netflix series for Iso times. This week we will be focus in on chapter two.
