25.01.2022 For those of us missing competitions you need to be following @livingthegroomlife. Some great insights into the day to day life when you’re part of a large team.

23.01.2022 What an awesome bunch of goodies from EQ Saddleworld to brighten up the winter wardrobe! Thanks so much for supporting Melbourne International 3 Day Event in th...eir Virtual Young Event horse competition it certainly provides us riders some much needed motivation during this weird time and helped keep us connected!! Primary prize winner was Bruce Buswell’s eye catching 5year old Matilda Downs Another Sarah (sire Another Warrior, dam by Vivant) Huge thanks to Bruce for having me produce his lovely young girl! (Please ignore my atrocious lower leg position in the picture...the ping clearly caught me by surprise I’m lucky it was a young horse not a rider competition! )

22.01.2022 No rest for the wicked!

21.01.2022 We love this photo of Polly and Burger taken by Tazzie Eggins Photography . Please click on the link and like the photo to help her win

20.01.2022 Melbourne 3 Day Event and Eventing Victoria would like to extend our deepest sympathy to Usman Khan and the Pakistan Eventing Team on the loss of their wonderful horse Azad Kashmir. Azad Kashmir and Usman gained their final qualification for the Tokyo Olympics at Wallaby Hill at the end of last year. They placed 4th at Tonimbuk in the CCI4*-s in March this year. Azad Kashmir is also a current finalist in the the Equestrian Victoria Off The Track Horse of the Year in Eventing. Pakistan Eventing Offthetrack

18.01.2022 Sad news today...Although best known for her Dressage achievements Margaret was an accomplished Eventer and show jumper. Marg placed 2nd in the Advanced at Melbourne on Pyewacket in 1971.

16.01.2022 Too cute not to share

16.01.2022 Over 10,000 votes from all corners of the world have made VASSILY DE LASSOS the EquiRatings Horse of the Year 2021. It is the first time an Australian has e...ver won the award. This combination have had 17 internationals together and only three times been outside the top 5. Vassily (12) is youngest of only five horses in the world with an Elo rating over 800 (814). One of the fastest horses in the world (has only added 8 seconds IN HIS ENTIRE CAREER) and one of the best jumpers (one pole ever with Andrew). A top 5 at WEG, an individual bronze and team silver at Tokyo (only horse to FOD) and now the #ERHOTY21 champion. #ERHOTY21

15.01.2022 Such sad news. Our hearts go out to all the connections, Willinga Park, Ryans Horses and especially to Hazel.

15.01.2022 Although we have incurred costs, we have in good faith refunded all riders, traders and sponsors for this year’s event, (some generous sponsors have rolled their money over for next yearbless). We would love you to help us out by having a bid on our online Auction. All these quality items have been donated and we cannot thank these companies enough for supporting us even though we cannot run. 06.01.2022 In Gillain Elwes we celebrate a life well lived. A great friend of MI3DE and much loved member of our Eventing Community she will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Here are some words from Sue Mckay our Event Secretary- Gill Elwes was a great supporter of Inverleigh Riding Club when the club moved to its new grounds at Teesdale. Gill had been instructing at the Club for some time and was generous with her advice and help with the first ever cross country jumps built on th...e grounds. This was back in the mid-late 1990’s. She was already involved in Melbourne Int. 3 Day Event and she asked if a few of us could volunteer on Cross Country Day. It was very hard to say ‘No’ as she’d given us a lot of help. Cross Country Day back then incorporated Roads & Tracks and Steeplechase. A group of us gamely stepped up for what became several years of supporting MI3DE as a Club. In my case it was the start of well over 20 years of helping at MI3DE. I’d pencil for dressage and come back on Cross Country day when Gill and Kevin Watson were managing the XC day helpers. I moved from XC fence judging to working in Central Control on XC day. These days I’m Event Secretary and still love the event. A big thank you to Gill for instigating my involvement. Last year she was in the Event Office again, helping out as usual. 06.01.2022 Happy Birthday to those noble creatures who help us live out our hopes and dreams

05.01.2022 Due to today’s announcement Eventing Victoria have in consultation with the Organising Committees cancelled the August 1st Off The Track Combined Training across the nine venues. Although some of the venues were outside the metropolitan area, the regional ones felt going ahead was not desirable at this time. We would like to thank Off The Track and Horseland for their support of this initiative. Hopefully our six weeks of lockdown produces the desired outcome and we can return to competition in the Spring.

04.01.2022 All Victorian Horse Trials have been using Mimclips on their fences extensively since they were first recommended by the FEI. Melbourne 2021 will be making use of the new yellow ones. Thanks to the Victorian Eventing Fund we are able to be at the forefront when it comes to safety!

04.01.2022 Thank you Ballarat With the easing of restrictions in the regional areas, travelling to coaches and attending clinics is now possible for those members. We encourage riders to seek some training opportunities prior to their first event, given the long time between events combined with the Spring grass. Floating to clinics, coaches or even a different arena will help get you back into the swing. We would love to be able to run Squads now for those regional riders, but sadly our coaches are based in stage 4 and are not permitted to travel. As soon as this is relaxed we will be there. Competitions are now starting up in Regional areas for those riders. We are grateful to our Organising Committees for stepping up to provide these opportunities.

03.01.2022 Come on Aussie’s vote for Vassilyhe is a big part (1/3), of the reason we have funding for Eventing in this country. He nailed it in Tokyo (with the help of Andrew). So easy to vote

03.01.2022 For any Eventers wanting to add some scope to their thoroughbred mares our Young Horse Judge Chris Burton has a great option http://www.equestrianlife.com.au//High-calibre-Holstein-st
