Atlas of the Bri...tish Empire, a reproduction of the original atlas made for Queen Mary’s doll’s house by Edward Stanford Ltd, cartographers to the King. Uncovered by Trove's Romina Villanueva for #LibraryLoversDay, the tiny atlas, produced in 1925, boasts 12 double-page maps including Australia - and a total of 26 pages. British ‘possessions’ at the time, were coloured in red. ‘I love it because it’s so cute,’ Romina said. ‘It's especially amazing because it's a hand-made, functional atlas. 18.01.2022 How lucky am I to receive such thoughtful handmade gifts? Margaret from Melbourne made me a wonderful mini book as a souvenir of my last visit, and Bethany from the US made this magical little book. I am touched that people have gone to so much effort, and I keep these gifts on my desk to remind me how happy a little book can make someone.
