23.01.2022 Well folks, there’s going to be a lot more of this going on for Dr Peter Taylor in the very near future . It is with much emotion that we announce, our beloved Dr Pete has taken a big step towards retirement and has sold Midwest Veterinary Centre. It was a decision that certainly wasn’t an easy one to make, but as he hands over his baby of an incredible TWENTY THREE years to two of our current team members Dr Tara Craft and Nurse Natalie Woods, he is confident you’ll st...ill be greeted with smiley faces and great service for your pets! Over the past 23 years, Peter said his all time 2 greatest achievements have been: 1. Investing in his team members personal and professional growth through leadership and EQ.... witnessing the positive changes it has made to their career and general everyday lives. 2. Surviving being kicked in the nuts by a horse when he was gelding it (an eye for an eye ) Dr Pete will still be available for bookings on Sundays for the time being for your pets. For the pets, for the owners, for our team having to see beloved dogs pass away from this preventable disease Please vaccinate your dogs to protect them against this awful, fatal virus. Did you know there is no cure for Calicivirus? Did you know that Calicivirus can be spread not only by wild rabbits, but also by flies, fleas and mosquitoes? Did you know that your rabbit needs to be vaccinated against Calicivirus every 6 months? Rabbit Calicivirus is a nasty disease which damages the rabbit’s internal organs such as the liver and gut, and can also cause haemorrhage or bleeding. If you notice your rabbit not eating as well as normal or maybe some bleeding, a vet check is urgent as these can be symptoms of the Calicivirus. The disease can progress very quickly and is often fatal. It’s not all doom and gloom; there is a vaccination available to give your pet rabbit the best chance! We recommend 6 monthly boosters for your pet rabbit, even if they are indoor only, because it is so contagious. Our rabbit vaccinations cost $79 and include a full health check of your bunny, including teeth, nails, ears and eyes. This health check also gives you the opportunity to discuss your rabbit’s general health, diet, housing and when your bunny is due for sterilisation.
