22.01.2022 The New Mini-Kits EME200 Universal Microwave Experimenter boards are now available. These are made using low cost FR4 material and have similar performance to the original EME171 RO4003C material at much lower cost. Loss through the board with amplifiers or multipliers are only around 1dB more at 5GHz. The upside is that it is much easier to fit Pipecap filters as the board material is easier to solder to due to solder leveled plating. The board has also been updated to fit a number of newer devices including the NXP BGU805x series amplifiers. For more information see www.minikits.com.au/EME200-PCB

18.01.2022 Due Brexit, there have been changes to the UK Tax system from January the 1st 2021 that now requires business outside of the UK to collect prepaid VAT. This means changes to our website, invoicing, and also registering for Tax in UK. Currently the cost to implement this would be too high for Mini-Kits to have to collect VAT, and accounting costs to pay the UK Tax each quarter. Unfortunately this will also be a requirement with the EU from July 2021. So for now unfortunately we will have to say goodbye to our UK and Ireland customers that have supported us for many years. If we can find a cost effective solution, then we might able to sell to your counties again.

14.01.2022 A WiFi switch Kit using the Ai Thinker ESP-01S module, has been developed by Mini-Kits to enable switching of up to 4x +12vdc outputs using onboard MosFETs. The switch is ideal for switching relays, or for switching power to remote equipment. The ESP-01S has an inbuilt webserver which can easily be programmed using Arduino IDE software. The sample picture shows a simple webpage to switch Satellite antenna polarization. The EME216 switch should be available as a Kit soon once the documentation has been completed.

09.01.2022 At last I have finally finished the New EME219 70cm UHF X-Pol Antenna polarity switch which is now available on the website. The polarity switch is designed to switch between vertical, horizontal, right hand, and left hand circular polarization, using two 70cm Yagi Antennas mounted as a X configuration. The Antenna that I have used, is a DG7YBN 10x10 element designed specifically for 435.5MHz, which can be used between 430 and 440MHz and uses materials off the shelf in Australia. For more information see the EME219 Kit webpage. https://www.minikits.com.au/eme219

08.01.2022 Who is getting ready for the project Horus launch tomorrow, Sunday the 7th around 9AM north of Adelaide. I am going to split the signal from the 70cm Satellite X-pol antenna with masthead amplifier to a Adlam Pluto for decoding the 445MHz DVBS using SDR Angel software, and a IC-9700 for the 434.200MHz binary decoding using the Horus GUI software. Details on how to decode the telemetry and DVBS signals can be found at https://www.areg.org.au/a/category/activities/project-horus Looking forward to this one thanks to the AREG group and Mark VK5QI
