14.01.2022 THE FORGOTTEN IMP , its a great star, its said it was a commercial failure but a very sucsesfull car . Its been slow to find its place in motoring history as a great classic , but its picking up pace over the last 2 years and moving fast on the scene with engineering aficiados . The car was cocepted with the failure of Lord "Billy " Rootes they called him in the press and factory floor thr fail to aknoweledge the offer to build the VW beetle . " its dangerous a pet...rol tank over your lap to small in the cabin and motor in the back wont sell " wrong it did 20 million . We find him changing his mind calling the heads of Audi and Morris together to desing the world beater , but that wasnt to come till they designed it sucessor years later in 1980 the Peugeot 205 GTI rally a grand prix car with a windscreen and mudgards . IMP fail was due to politics of the royal family in scotland a very advanced little car for the 60s to kill the Morris Mini and VW beetle sales . Factory strikes in Linwood ship builders not cars and continued strikes workers making barbecues instead of the cars all led to the shut down with terrible losses of 3 m a year but this little car wasnt ended it lasted further years till 1976 The ispiration of Talbot Sunbeam Lotus and the New world popular Peugeot 205 . The gear stick so good and short u can flick it with your little finger from your Armrest , steering precise and light , with a perky little overhead cam in the back you want little else and parking nothing like it . 13.01.2022 WAS THE FORD CORTINA THE BETTER HILLMAN HUNTER if we look at performance we would need to conclude the Hillman was the better Ford it beat all cars on the London to Sydney Marathon including every Cortina and all our V8s. Then there is pruduction the Hillman lives on vurtually unchanged still built today long after the Ford has long gone . The looks is one of subjective taste , and both drove very similar though Hunter was more sure footed upon testing .

06.01.2022 WAS WILLIAM TOWNS lagonda a stretched version of his Hillman Hunter he worked on with Ian Flemings brother of James Bond Fame Both got his signature low sloping front and rear unlike Ford Cortina flat bonnet lines . You can see the refinement of line in both cars .

02.01.2022 ANOTHER SELLS IN Europe as this has for the same money we have only one the worlds best example in Australia for $40,000 Aust. The Paykan car or as we on Aust know it as Hillman Hunter and it won our London to Sydney Marathon , China Paris and around the world Marathon in 2000 celebrations known as the world best marathon car. Today till April it also wins the lastest acolade at Londons Victoria Albert Museum as the last motor car to be included in the top 10 best car designs in service to humanity .The car Holden used via Isuzu for their light car in 75 in the middle east fuel crisis Australia Exiled by Chrysler to the middle East in 1973 became Iran's iconic National car for over 40 years near unchanged but for some Walkinsaw improvements .
