25.01.2022 GSF1250 Bandit forks getting K-Tech piston kit, new springs and full service #ktechaustralia

24.01.2022 Another fully Farkled Tenere 700 finished #swmotech #barrettproducts #barkbusters #michelinanakeewilds #B&Boffroad #skda #ktechaustralia

24.01.2022 This one tested all my auto electrical knowledge and used every bit of test kit I owned. Voltage drop to fuel pump, which is controlled by the fuel relay, it has more than one 12 volt power input. Once I proved the voltage drop I started cutting off the tape from the harness and tracking it down, eventually I just pulled on the suspect wire and sure enough it yanked clean out of the harness, must have been down to a couple of strands. Once all the tape was off I could track down where it broke from, only to find 3 other wires in the same condition. All soldered and fixed, taped back up and that beer after that 4 hour nightmare tasted great

23.01.2022 Day 2 much drier

22.01.2022 The Platinum tune ECU re-map has now been fully tested on the Tenere 700, after 2,000kms of varying terrian last week we are super impressed with how the engine performs now and the best bit is, it hasn't been detrimental to the fuel economy. We will be sending more ECU's off shortly, if you want yours done too, get it to me soon. Cost is $440 inc GST. In the video you get Clubby's response after his first ride with the new map

22.01.2022 This one came out nice, Suspension upgrade with K-Tech springs, Arrow muffler and a box full of SW Motech accessories to finish it off. Can't lay any claim to the graphics, the owner did all that himself, but I sure like the finish

22.01.2022 The Great Plex valve debate. I am not a fan of drop in Plex valves and yesterday I proved my theory of having 2 competing compression damper systems in the same fork will create cavitation. The bike presented with Plex valves installed and customer unhappy with how the forks work. We measured and then removed them, dismantled and drilled out the damper rod to remove the original damping system and then installed Travel Control Valves (emulators/PD valves or what you want t...o call them) and the results are clear to see and feel. Blue line is stock, black line is Plex valve, you can see that at initial movement and very low speed velocity it produces a damping bump, but then cavitation takes over and it actually drops below stock through all the low and mid velocity and then recovers back to stock at high speed. The Orange line is the way we send them out, damper rod drilled out and TCV fitted and tuned correctly, creates good low velocity compression damping that builds to mid speed and remains through the velocity all the way. Also massive improvement in rebound damping all the way through the velocities. The only advantage I can see of the Plex valves over stock is they may reduce the dreadful dive felt on DR650's when the brakes are first applied, but are no help for any other bumps, that's a lot of money for very little return See more

16.01.2022 Trail Tours with Greeny

15.01.2022 If you want a new weekend experience learning how to ride trials bikes in a great social environment and glamp along the way then this for you. Trust me as we were the guinea pigs to make sure it all worked. Dave knows his stuff and he and his wife Cath will makes sure you enjoy the stay too.

15.01.2022 Husqvarna 701 and 701LR is becoming a popular ADV bike. The suspension is lacking in some areas. For most people it's under sprung, both front and rear and very under sprung on the rear if you are carrying loads, we also recommend adding the X-Trig pre-load adjuster when fitting the upgraded spring, this allows you to quickly adjust sag to accommodate varying loads with just an 8mm socket. Damping wise the shock is good for most riders and can be dialed in fairly well with ...existing adjusters. For those who have 16-19 models we need to modify the 4CS forks (yes that's where KTM got rid of all the remaining stock) to open cartridge and set the damping up properly for the rider along with some beefier springs to get ride heights correct. For those with the 20 models, the Xplor fork suffers the same issues as on the EXC's, there is no damping, fitting the K-Tech ORVS with new K-Tech fork springs transforms the bike into the ADV bike we knew it had the potential to be. 14.01.2022 Massive week ahead, every spare spot has a bike squeezed into it

14.01.2022 Just testing a new CRF1000L ATAS shock before re-valving it, tested way too soft on compression and rebound

14.01.2022 Sorry , no photos from this week, crazy crazy busy, no time for anything like stopping for a photo. We did however service and repair numerous bikes. Shocks fitted, forks serviced, tyres fitted and all sorts electrical problems solved. Beer time, next week I’ll try and grab a few photos during the mayhem. Stay positive, grip it, rip it and keep roostin during this China virus scamdemic

11.01.2022 I can say with full confidence that the 2019 Sachs/ZF fork found on current Beta’s has not improved in any way, anodising worn off the outer tube in 16 hours, fork is full of glitter grey soup. What a mess. If you are looking at buying a Beta, spend the extra and get the one with the KYB suspension. Sachs Sux!

06.01.2022 Saturday spent installing the new Rally Raid suspension into Dave’s bike and the new K-Tech pistons kits into mine. 06.01.2022 BACK IN THE PROFESSOR’S LAB Big thanks once again to the Professor aka Tragics sweep Clive Ward from Motorcyclebiz for opening up his workshop today to the Capt...ain and David Darcy to help install some more Rally Raid Products goodness to our Tenere 700s. I fitted a set of RRP soft luggage racks to my bike and was stoked with the finished product. They were easily mated with my B&B Off Road Engineering compact rear rack and grab handles, and are the perfect fit to carry my Giant Loop Mojavi saddlebag - excellent. Plus they work with stacks of other soft luggage set-ups and can even take Rotopax containers. Meantime Dave arrived with an Armaguard escort with his new Rally Raid Products fork and shock suspension components for his bike. They are seriously top-shelf gear and Dave can’t wait to try them out in anger. Meanwhile, the Prof had a line up of new K-Tech Suspension goodies for his 700, so it was a massive day on the tools all round. Look out for more Tenere 700 suspension set-up tips soon on Dave’s Motorcycle Adventure Dirtbike TV channel on YouTube. #yamahamotoraus #blucru #revsyourheart See more
