On the 31st of August 1957, in Merdeka Stadium, our first prime minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman exclaimed "Merdeka!" seven times. In what feels like an oversimplification of the most historic moment in its history, it meant that Malaysia had officially gained independence from the British. We were finally free. Since that day, 63 years ago, Malaysia has come a long way to become the amazing multiracial c...ountry we proudly call home today. On behalf of the Malaysian Students' Organisation of UNSW, the committee would like to wish Malaysia a happy 63rd birthday. 07.01.2022 To all members, the Australia Malaysia Business Council NSW ACT and Australian Malaysian Singaporean Association (AMSA) are holding a joint petition to request the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia and the Ministry of Home Affairs of Malaysia to provide Malaysian Passport issuance and renewal services at the Consulate of Malaysia in Sydney. For those unaware, passport renewals are only available in the Canberra or Melbourne Malaysian High Commission. With the rise in CO...VID-19 cases across the country, this has reduced our ability to travel interstate in order to issue these passport renewals. By enabling Malaysians residing in NSW to renew their passports within the state, this would be a great convenience for all, students and non-students alike. The petition is open from the 16th to 31st of August 2020 and can be accessed through the link in the post below
