25.01.2022 We send our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to those affected by the fires in NSW and QLD. The degree of devastation is incomprehensible with lives and homes lost leaving communities and towns impacted. We mourn all that has been lost in these communities and we pray that you and your loved ones are safe. We express our respect and appreciation for the men and women fighting these fires, and pray they will soon have them under control, though we know it will take years to reb...uild what has been lost. Reminder to everyone that that there is a complete fire ban and that conditions are Catastrophic. 13.01.2022 Recap of National Mosque Open Day 2020 On October 31st, 2020. Ten mosques opened their doors to the public across Australia as part of National Mosque Open Day. This year was exceptional with many mosques unable to participate due to COVID-19 restrictions. In NSW, two mosques opened their doors while the Lakemba Mosque Open Day went virtual to avoid the risk of spreading COVID-19. More than 10,000 Australians were engaged through the live streamed guided tour, panel discussi...on and the virtual reality tour of Lakemba Mosque. In Queensland, Garden City Mosque welcomed locals to tour the mosque, know more about Islam and enjoy delicious food. In Western Australia, three mosques; The Canning Suleymaniye Mosque, Al Rahman Mosque and Masjid Al-Latief welcomed hundreds of people through their doors. In Tasmania, Hobart Mosque opened its doors to hundreds of locals for a fun and informative open day In Canberra, Sabah Al Ahmad Masjid and Gungahlin Mosque welcomed hundreds of people to tour the mosques, enjoy traditional food and know more about Islam. In Northern Territory, Palmerston Masjid opened its doors to the locals to discover the mosque and understand more about Islam All participating mosques organised warm and welcoming open days.
